And never in my wildest dreams could I have dreamed anything so perfect. 🥺🥹 Our Emma Serena made an early earthly debut on Friday afternoon, and we are all doing amazing now back at home. One month until we meet the tiny human I’ve been somehow making out of Special K and PB&J’s, and I’m feeling all of the things. Honestly, it has been a very unexpectedly challenging season. I’m told constantly about how “excited” I must be, but that’s never felt like the right word to describe pregnancy for me. It’s anticipation, yes, but a lot more anxiety: Constant uncomfort, physically, emotionally, and mentally; balancing pushing myself but also giving myself grace; fears about the future and “being ready,” though everyone says nobody ever is. Pregnancy has been isolating in many ways but has also expanded who I am still becoming in many ways. And I still can’t wrap my brain around creating a life — or even committing to a name lol — and I’m not sure I will be able to until I’m physically holding her. But here we are, a month away. We’re surrounded by diapers and baby gear galore — and lots and lots of love. So, grateful would be the most apt word for the emotion I’m feeling, as seen by what @cecetayproductions captured here 🫶🏻 Speaking of gratefulness — a moment to recognize my husband, who has carried us both during the last eight months in ways he always has as my partner and I’ve always known he would as a father, but still amaze and overwhelm me with the deepest sense of love and appreciation.
