Congratulations are in order for the viral #YouTube dating series “#PopTheBalloonorFindLove,” created by #ArletteAmuli and her husband #BoliaMatundu, is getting a live adaptation on #Netflix titled “Pop the Balloon Live.” The show, which has amassed over 100 million views on YouTube, will air every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET starting April 10, 2025, with actress and comedian #YvonneOrji, known for “Insecure,” as the host. In the series, singles test their chemistry while trying to keep a balloon intact—when it pops, their chance at love ends. The Netflix version will feature reality TV stars like Johnny Bananas, Chase DeMoor, Farrah Abraham, and Zaina Sesay. This move reflects Netflix’s strategy to adapt popular social media concepts for its platform, following successes like “The Sidemen’s Inside.” The show is produced by Sharp Entertainment, with Amuli and Matundu among the executive producers. #BLPGoodNews via @ajcnews A public-private partnership has resulted in a new initiative DeKalb County educators and civic leaders hope will benefit students and families grappling with food insecurity. The city of Stonecrest and Goodr, a company that works to provide quality food to local communities, are involved in the effort to create The Lion’s Den Grocery Store, the first free grocery store within the DeKalb County School District. Officials said 41% of Black households in DeKalb struggle to afford necessities. They hope the store will be a model for schools nationwide to address hunger in their communities.
