Going to be tough to beat this experience!!! Kids can drive any vehicle from 9am to 10pm on the 8th and 9th floor. Think F1, that’s the sound from the inside of the room. Our toddler loved it and with more practice, he could turn and even overtake! We had to remind him to keep his eyes on the road a million times and his dad concluded with “OK, you’re not driving my car”. 🤣 There is also a Fantasy Castle at the courtyard, a kids bar with complimentary snacks / drinks and a movie room. They also provided kid-sized slippers and amenities. We enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it. There’s also a Gran Turismo simulator and the staff were really friendly! 📍 Silks Place, Yilan 🌈 It’s right next to Luna Plaza. So grateful that the world is opening up. Pray that your little brother will also be a chill flyer like you. Otherwise, we’ll have to settle with touring Singapore one city at a time! 😂 Things we did differently for our toddler’s second flight: ⁃ Brought less activities as there were enough things to keep him entertained in the plane. ⁃ As it was a longer flight, we let him walk around and he happily said hi to everyone as if he owned the plane. ⁃ Did not stress about matching his sleep with the flight time which thankfully worked, boy slept for 3 hours on the 6am flight! As I said before, if things don’t go as planned, hang in there, the plane will eventually land!! Korkor (big bro) was never a fan of bouncy castles until recently and didi (little bro) obviously just follows everything that korkor does. There were 4 sets of bouncy castles but they spent a good 1 hour just going up and down this one particular slide. Just the right size for young toddlers. In our ongoing crusade to eliminate non-stick cookwares / cutleries in our home, we have made the switch to a rice cooker with stainless steel pot. The first time I cooked in it was nerve wracking. I was expecting rice to stick to the bowl like glue or wallpaper paste but thankfully it did not. I soaked the rice for 10-15 minutes before starting the rice cooker. Then once done, I let it cool-down for about 15 minutes to let the rice naturally release from the metal. Most of the big brands don’t carry stainless steel inner pots so I had to crowdsource online - pinned it on ‘FAQ’ highlights. Thank you IG fam. Alternatively, steaming rice works too. I’ve never tasted such fluffier rice! I read about the benefits of freezing rice to significantly reduce its GI (Glycemic Index). The process converts starch to resistance starch. Has anyone been doing this? P.S. New this SS world. I’ve just learned that we should not use metal spoons and try to avoid washing rice in the pot to prevent scratches.

Boys’ were so happy to see anything construction related! Operating an excavator with their dad was an unforgettable experience for them. They enjoyed the sand play and the remote control vehicles area the most. The whole place is just nice for spending an hour with young kids. If you’re wondering if it was hot, yes it was. If you’re thinking of doing the slot before lunch at 10:30 am like we did, remember to put on sunblock, and bring your water bottles and an umbrella. Kids don’t really mind the heat as they were so engrossed with playing but we tried to shade them as much as possible. Been wanting to do this but I always forget about it, life with kids is truly hectic. Trying to minimise the kids’ exposure to the harmful chemicals leeching from plastic. The cutleries we use at home are within my control, so out go the plastics. Use alternatives like stainless steel and glass, where possible. We’re currently looking for stainless steel bottles with straps for the kids that are not too big / heavy. Any recommendations? P.S. Microplastics also exist in clothing and toys. One step at a time!
