TOP TIPS for The Jewel at Changi Airport, Singapore👇🏼 Changi Airport is truly a gem in the world of travel! ✈️With its stunning Rain Vortex and countless activities, it’s one of my favorite airports! My inbound flight was in the evening, and my outbound was in the afternoon, giving me the perfect opportunity to experience the Jewel both day and night. Here are some thoughts from my visit ~ TRAVEL AND PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS 🌊 The rain vortex is in Terminal 1 (airport shuttles between terminals available) and is open 10 AM - 10 PM on weekends and 11 AM - 10 PM Mon-Thurs. Light shows are at 8 PM and 9 PM daily, with an extra show at 10 PM on weekends. Always check the official website for the latest updates! ☀️ Daytime Photography: For the best shots, visit about an hour after the vortex opens. The early crowd thins out, allowing for clearer shots 🌙 Evening Photography: Arrive early to secure a prime spot for the light show. It’s worth it for those magical evening shots! 🌿 Avoid the Crowds: The ground floor can get busy. TOP TIPS for Balat, Istanbul Turkey!👇🏼 🗓️ Best time to visit is definitely in the early morning on a weekday! We explored the neighbourhood for about an hour, where we snapped photos of the cobblestoned street and window shopped antiques in the colourful stores! ⛱ One of our favourite activities was trying a traditional Turkish breakfast spread in the courtyard of Dimitrie Cantemir Museum Cafe with all the colourful umbrellas! It was a bit more on the spenny side but we enjoyed our time there. 🎨 These colorful houses are on Kiremit Caddesi — just a short walk from Fener Pier or the Fener Tram Station. Definitely go first thing in the morning, since there’s usually a crowd of people who want to take photos. 🎨 Balat also has a ton of fantastic street art scattered in different corners. So grab a coffee, and go on a cute little photo walk to see what you might find! We arrived at 8:30am, and there were hardly any people there. By the time we left around 10am, it was super busy! 📸 Choose Your Seat: Sit on the right side going up and the left side coming down for the best views of Hong Kong’s skyline. 🎟️ Buy Tickets Online: Save time and money by purchasing tickets in advance. Early risers can use their Octopus card at the Peak Tram Station. 🥾 Explore the Trails: Walk Lugard Road for stunning panoramic views or challenge yourself with a hike to High West at sunset. 👩🏻‍💻 Check the Weather: Use the cameras on the HK Observatory website to check for clear views before you go. 🥾 For a unique experience, take a bus or walk up the stairs along the tramway to Kennedy Road and Tramway Path. You’ll get a great view of the tram going up and down between the trees (and don’t forget mosquito repellent!). 🌃 Enjoy breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour from the Peak at night. TOP TIPS for Çamlıca Mosque, Istanbul Turkey!👇🏼 Did you know the Çamlıca Mosque is the largest mosque in the Turkey? Its main dome, symbolizing the 72 nations in Istanbul, is 72 meters high 🤯 —————— PHOTOGRAPHY & TRAVEL TIPS 📸 Sunset is the best time to go for photos! We arrived at around 5pm and although there were other visitors around, the mosque is so so big - it’s not hard to find your own space! 🚕 Since it’s not close to other attractions and difficult to reach (high up on the hill) we found it was easiest to reach by uber. It was also more quiet and peaceful than other mosques for the same reason 🌅 This spot is on the ‘Asia’ side of the Bosphorus River and if you’re exploring other parts of this side of Istanbul, this is a great spot to end the day! 📸 (4th slide) I entered the space by taking the escalators from the car road after getting off the uber and seeing the mosque slowly reveal itself as we went up the escalator was awesome! So have your phones/cameras ready as you’re coming up 🤗 👚 Dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees) 🕌 The mosque itself is free to enter and check the prayer times to avoid visiting during prayers! TOP TIPS for the National Museum of Qatar, Doha!👇🏼 The National Museum of Qatar - the desert museum - is an architectural gem 🏜️ I love the unique design inspired by the desert rose and had loads of fun snapping away outside and even walked on the roof! —————— PHOTOGRAPHY & TRAVEL TIPS 🎟️ I was only available on a Tuesday morning during my trip (closed) so I wasn’t able to visit the exhibits on this trip (really hope to next time!!). But if you would like to go inside, pre-book your tickets online for a selected time slot for entry 📸 It was fairly empty when I visited around noon (maybe because it was closed haha). It’s a huge area with so many angles so honestly spent ages just exploring the exterior 🤩 🏜️ Walking on the roof was my favourite part for taking photos with my tripod! But it got hot really fast so a cover to prevent my camera from overheating was essential 🇶🇦 The museum is located near other attractions like the Museum of Islamic Art, the Corniche, and Souq Waqif so planning my day with those places in mind as well was super helpful 👚 Dress modestly and ensure your shoulders and legs are covered. Since the building is a sandy white colour, sunglasses were so helpful when I wasn’t taking photos! 🚇 If you’re taking the metro - The National Museum of Qatar is easily reachable by the Metro Gold Line! Otherwise there is also free shaded parking. 🕌 Don’t miss the Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al-Thani’s original palace! TOP TIPS for the Katara Pigeon Towers in Katara Cultural Village, Doha Qatar!👇🏼 One of my favourite mornings in Doha was spent exploring the Katara Cultural Village — a lively area showcasing Qatari culture! As an architecture graduate, I was excited to check out the pigeon towers next to Katara Mosque. These ancient circular structures were traditionally designed to house pigeons and now stand as iconic landmarks, with birds perched on wooden poles and nestled in their unique details! —————— PHOTOGRAPHY & TRAVEL TIPS 🗓️ If you want to avoid hot temperatures, plan your visit outside of the summer months (June to September). My short solo trip was in late March—slightly breezy in the mornings, and my mini fan was helpful at noon 😊️ 🕊️ There are so many angles and views of the Pigeon Towers, so you can visit at any time of the day! I started just after sunrise for the soft lighting and then explored the rest of the village until lunch. 👚 Dress modestly and ensure your shoulders and legs are covered. 📸 A wide-angle lens is very useful if you want to capture the full height of the towers! 📸 Staff very politely asked me not to use my tall tripod, so I’m glad I brought a mini tripod that I could place on my bag for extra height (which seemed to be ok! 😊️) 🚘 If you are driving, there is parking available in the main area at Galeries Lafayette 🎟️ Entry is free!
