Einstein has earned the nickname Beans. Because as you can see, when he gets excited, his body is like an uncontrolled jumping bean 🫘 First trip to Canadian Tire!

We bought a pontoon boat this week so Einstein went on his first boat ride this weekend! He wasn’t sure how cool he looked in his lifejacket but we all assured him he looked very cool so he seemed to enjoy the ride 🛥️

It’s been over a week now since we lost Dudley, the outpour of support has been beyond anything we could have imagined! We have thousands of messages and comments that have come in and it has really made things easier just knowing how much joy he brought into the world. We are reading all of the comments and appreciate every single one of you taking time out of your day to offer condolences during this difficult period. We wanted to post a nice family picture here of us all during our engagement photo shoot back in 2020, which of course Dudley had to be a part of because he was also the best man at the wedding and got to walk down the aisle! The happy memories are becoming more prevalent and the bad memories from those last couple days are starting to fade. Einstein is also doing well, Dudley raised him to be a great little boy and he has just as many funny quirks in his own way. We are all just so happy that out of the billions of people in this world, the two of us were lucky enough to have the most time with Dudley and fortunate enough that our careers allowed him to be with us 24/7. He lived a dozen lives worth in his short time here and got to experience so much. He’ll always be with us and those happy memories are all of ours to keep forever ❤️

We unexpectedly lost Dudley yesterday afternoon. He woke up with some neck swelling the day before so we took him to the vet and was prescribed some anti inflammatories. We went back yesterday afternoon for a further checkup and he was still ok at that point. As soon as we got home he declined rapidly and he passed in the car on the way back to the vet. It is nice to know that he was with his whole family up until the end with his mom sitting in the backseat with him holding him the entire time. He wasn’t in any pain and went peacefully to sleep. Dudley was our first dog and he was spoiled beyond measure. We had 7 amazing years with him. He came to work with us every day since he was a puppy and never spent more than a few hours alone for his whole life. No matter where he was, he put smiles on everyone’s faces and has had more of an impact on the world than we could have ever imagined. He was the reason we bought our first condo, and he picked our second home for us (we took him to every house we looked at and he only decided to mark his territory on the one we liked most). Dudley has been the centre of our life for so many years and this will be an enormous challenge to move past. We are going to miss not having anyone to trip over or get mad at us for table scraps at every meal. But we know he is in a better place now. His time was short, but we enjoy the great moments knowing that Dudley always came first no matter what and we felt the same love back from him. We’ve appreciated everyone love for him over the years, it has been a true pleasure seeing the joy he has brought to so many people around the world. We wouldn’t change a single moment. Rest in peace Dudley ❤️
