What do you get when 4 friends dream of flight and decide to make it real? @nimbusuav – a drone tech start-up grown with grit. Chandruth, Elvin, Yi Long and Damian – SIT grads and co-founders – started with self-funded school projects. No labs, no investors, just belief. “We walked 4km at dawn with a drone in hand to test it. Couldn’t afford a taxi.” Today, they design UAVs, help build flying cars (no, really), and mentor students who dream just like they once did. Their journey? ✨ Built from scratch
💪 Fuelled by resilience

Thriving in Early Career Life Chemical Engineering graduate Angel Joseph Sena (Class of 2021) has come a long way since her student leader days at SIT, where she wore many hats – SITizen Ambassador, student leader, and all-around go-getter. Fast forward to today: this SITizen alum’s thriving in the pharmaceutical industry, taking on large-scale projects involving the high-speed production of sterile eye drops, and mentoring others — all while navigating the ups and downs of early career life. But the journey hasn’t been all smooth. From burnout to rebuilding confidence, Angel has learnt what it means to stay grounded and resilient. Read her story via the link in our bio!

Flexing their culinary chops! Hola amigos! Renowned Colombian Chef Alex Salgado and @ciachefsg students recently served up a feast of vibrant Colombian flavours for guests at the Temasek Culinary Academy as part of the CIA’s Cuisines of the Americas curriculum. At a guest lecture the day before, Chef Alex impressed students with how food is deeply intertwined with nature and culture, and how culinary practice can be a force for good.  The hands-on learning experience culminated in a colourful Colombian lunch: a comforting Lentil Puree soup, a unique Arepa (a type of flatbread) filled with pulled pork, flavourful Fish Escabeche served with coconut rice, and sweet Corn Buñuelo paired with artisanal dulce de leche — a rich caramel-like spread. The meal was complemented by refreshing a Guandolo – typically made with panela (unrefined cane sugar), water, and a splash of lime or lemon juice. This memorable event was cooked up through a collaboration between the Colombian Embassy, @ciachefsg and Temasek Polytechnic, blending culinary chops, culture and community into one tasty experience.

Technical & Cultural Exchanges Over Hotpot!⁣ ⁣ 44 Civil Engineering SITizens just wrapped up our Civil Engineering programme's first overseas summer school in partnership with Chongqing University (CQU), diving deep into advanced labs with shaking table experiments, getting behind-the-scenes access to automated concrete yards, and exploring the engineering marvels behind the world's longest double-deck suspension bridge.⁣ ⁣ “This trip not only brought our learning to life through real-world applications in a different country, but also revealed the deeper layers and broader perspectives of engineering that go beyond what we typically encounter in our core curriculum,” shared Brendan, a Year 3 Civil Engineering SITizen. ⁣ ⁣ 🌉 Between the technical discoveries and cultural immersion over hotpot dinners, new friendships were forged and perspectives broadened. 🥢⁣ ⁣ Big love to Chongqing University for the warmest welcome! This is just the beginning of our global learning journey. 💫⁣ ⁣ #SITGlobalExperience #CivilEngineering #ChongqingUniversity #SITizenGEDit

Live from the USA!⁣ ⁣ Our @sitnauticalknights just made SIT history at the International Submarine Races in Maryland! After two days of brutal 39°C heat, camping under tents, and a heartbreaking failed test, our incredible team refused to quit.⁣ ⁣ Heads down, problem-solving mode activated 🧠⁣ ⁣ MAKO II cleared the wet test AND attempted its first official race run! 100 metres of pure determination 🔥⁣ ⁣ This is what the SIT spirit looks like – when the going gets tough, we get innovative. Our students aren't just learning engineering, they're living it under the most challenging conditions.⁣ ⁣ Let's cheer them on!⁣

Playmate, friend, mentor. Meet @aliyahbhrm, who volunteers weekly at @sit.projectyouth.⁣ ⁣ Since February, she and her fellow student mentors have given weekly academic support to the young ones at @suncaresg – The Lighthouse in Punggol West.⁣ ⁣ The people and communication skills she has picked up as a SITizen Ambassador and Vanguard have helped her connect with the kiddos’ hearts and spark joy at every session. ⁣ ⁣ Proud of our student volunteers leading with heart as SITizens who are grounded in the community <3⁣
