This trip was something special. 【English/日本語】I’m so excited to share that my favorite artist @ayaka__nakamura created a painting inspired by my first album, What Lies Ahead, which I released on September 12. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece, and I feel incredibly grateful to have such a beautiful work of art come into my life. Back in college, I performed an Impressionist piece for an exam, and my professor told me, “You don’t get it. What’s the light in this piece? What’s the balance of shadows? Impressionism isn’t just vague.” I had no idea how to respond, and honestly, I realized how much I still had to learn. After the exam, I dove into researching the historical background and everything else (a bit late, I know 🥲). That’s when I started to really understand Impressionism and fell in love with it. Looking at her painting makes me feel the same way—like, is it the shadow in the light, or the light in the shadow? Is it sinking deeper into the ocean or rising back to the surface? 🧜 I’m so drawn to those kinds of contrasts. Depending on how the sunlight hits it at different times of the day, the painting’s mood completely changes—it almost feels alive. I’m beyond happy that she created this custom piece for me, but honestly, all of her work is stunning. If you ever get the chance, you should absolutely check out her other pieces in person! 私が9/12のリリースしたファーストアルバム、What Lies Aheadの作品を聞いていただき、大好きな画家の @ayaka__nakamura さんに絵を描いていただきました。世界にたったひとつの、作品。こんなに素晴らしい絵と出会うことができて本当に嬉しいです。 大学生の頃 試験で印象派の曲をやった時に先生にお前は何もわかってないな、この楽曲の光はなんだ、影のバランスはどうなんだ、印象派は曖昧って意味じゃないぞと言われ何も答えられず、勉強不足だったと思い試験終わってから時代背景やなんやらを調べ(遅い🥲)、印象派の深さを知ってから大好きになりました。 そんな私が彼女の絵を見て思うのも、光の中の影なのか、影の中の光なのか、みたいな。海の深くに潜っていくのか、地上に出ようとしているのか🧜 そんな部分にすごく惹かれました。見る時間の太陽の光のあたり方で表情がうんと変わる、ほんと生きてるみたいに見えるのです。 今回はアルバムに合わせて書いていただき、本当に幸せです😭✨ 普段の絵もとっても素敵な作品がたくさんあるのでみなさんもぜひ直接、見ていただきたいです。 #art #artist #fyp#saxophone#music#jazz
