Tally is the new terracotta Brick designed by Michael Anastassiades (@michaelanastassiades), created by extruding a square divided into longitudinal sections. The name derives from “Tally marks,” a counting system that uses groups of four vertical lines crossed by a fifth diagonal line. Similarly, Tally adds predefined groups of lines to create a single arrangement, which can be extended in any direction and configuration. “Tally has the capacity to become a code, almost a script, in the way it is used. And in a sense, that’s exactly what it is: a numerical alphabet with a visual dimension.” Discover more on mutina.it

“Compositions of Earth” is the new exhibition project dedicated to Robert Adams and curated by Sarah Cosulich (@sarah.cosulich) at Casa Mutina Milano. Adams’s lens has always captured a silent and pure beauty. The beauty of the vast prairies where animals, clouds, or roads draw orderly landscapes, and that of light which multiplies shadows and redefines every interior or exterior space. Between sublime calm and unstoppable metamorphosis, Adams obtains perspectives which shape emotions. His compositions reflect an intellectual and poetic vision of the world, which is inseparable from its change. “other than lights” is the new exhibition dedicated to Michael Anastassiades (@michaelanastassiades) and curated by Andreas Murkudis (@andreasmurkudis) in his Postdamer Strasse 81 space, on view until November 16, 2024. “The title is deliberately provocative. Michael Anastassiades is best known for his light-related projects, but there is much more to discover in the shadow. [...] What I find most striking about Michael Anastassiades is his ability to excel in so many categories. His light objects are undeniably beautiful—that’s how he started, and that’s what he is perhaps most famous for. Michael has since shown that he is more than capable in other disciplines as well, be it jewellery—or furniture-design. It is this breadth and variety that we want to highlight in other than lights. [...] The way he regularly crosses the border between design and art.” Read the full interview with Andreas Murkudis on Mutina Journal. Michael Anastassiades other than lights 12 October 2024 – 16 November 2024 ANDREAS MURKUDIS Potsdamer Strasse 81, 10785 Berlin Photography by Thomas Meyer

Andreas Murkudis (@andreasmurkudis) is the founder and curator of the homonymous space in Berlin where a new exhibition dedicated to Michael Anastassiades (@michaelanastassiades), entitled “other than lights”, was inaugurated on October 12. We met him to discuss his collaboration with Mutina, the exhibition set-up with Fringe modules and his eclectic approach to curating.  “In many ways my stores embody the interface of art, design and fashion. Nonetheless, I also think it is important to distinguish between them. Art needs to be understood as a separate entity. We would be doing art a disservice if we subjugated her to design and fashion. [...] Fashion and design can benefit greatly from art. The opposite is not always true.”  Read the full interview with Andreas Murkudis on Mutina Journal.  Michael Anastassiades  other than lights  12 October 2024 – 16 November 2024  ANDREAS MURKUDIS  Potsdamer Strasse 81, 10785 Berlin Photography by Thomas Meyer

Starting from a small size, Fringe by Michael Anastassiades (@michaelanastassiades) creates a continuous surface into which the modular concept vanishes. The colour of the grout chosen to fill the cuts makes a different and unexpected result every time. Discover more on mutina.it
