I used to say that books don’t tend to make me well up, however, these ones all broke my heart for many different reasons … whether it was the death of characters I loved, the emotional punch of a storyline or simply the way I was feeling at the time I read them, these all hit me hard. . Too early to call my favourite read of 2025?! Not sure as this masterpiece will take some beating. My top book of 2024 was read in January so … 🤷🏻‍♀️ . This is the @waterstones edition of Water Moon by @samanthasottoyambao. It is a story about choices, consequences and fate and is pulled together in an absolutely beautiful and lyrical manner. I adored the storytelling and couldn’t predict where it would go, even up to the last 5 pages. Red books! I recently saw someone do a compilation of birthstone photos that they did throughout 2024 and I loved it. (Can’t remember who … if it was you shout up and I’ll tag you. Sorry!) So, thought I’d give it a go and this is my first one. I do love red books. They always seem so gothic when mixed with black and gold foiling. I think it may be my favourite colour combination. . Saturday morning and I am pleased the weekend is here. I am not doing very much today at all. It was a VERY busy and eventful week and now I just need to rest for a few hours. . My first 5⭐️ read of the year and boy … what a ride that was! . This is the story of Locke and his Gentlemen Bastards. I adored this little band of men, including their crazy schemes and fine dining. The backstory during the dual timelines was fun too. . This book had me in a chokehold from the very first few pages. The banter was top notch and the relationships throughout were wonderful. As for plot … I couldn’t guess what was happening and when I did try and predict, I was wrong! . I adore Locke and cannot wait to read more. . What was your last 5⭐️ read? Let me know! .
