Gaza’s Christian community, though small, has endured immense hardship. Since the genocide, three historic churches have been damaged or destroyed by Israeli attacks, erasing centuries of cultural and religious heritage. 1️⃣ Church of Saint Porphyrius Gaza’s oldest church, built in the 5th century, was bombed on October 19 while ~500 civilians sheltered inside. Over 18 people, including children, were killed. 2️⃣ Holy Family Church The only Roman Catholic church in Gaza, built in 1974. Damaged in airstrikes on November 4, it faced another tragedy on December 16 when Nahida Khalil Anton and her daughter Samar were killed by an Israeli sniper within the church grounds. 3️⃣ Jabalia Byzantine Church Dating back to 444 CE, this ancient site was completely destroyed in Israeli airstrikes in October 2023, erasing a vital piece of global Christian heritage. These attacks are not just about buildings—they represent the erasure of history, culture, and identity.

The Israeli military is attacking one of the last functioning hospitals in northern Gaza, Kamal Aswan Hospital. All contact with the hospital has been severed as Israel escalates its assault. An invasion of the hospital appears imminent, though unconfirmed. “We are now facing direct bombing of the intensive care unit again,” Dr. Hussam Abu Safia said in a video statement on Saturday night, as patients and medical staff remain under relentless threat.

The Nation reports: Since October 2023, NBC’s Meet the Press, ABC’s This Week, CBS’s Face the Nation, and CNN’s State of the Union have mentioned Gaza 2,557 times but featured only one Palestinian guest—Husam Zomlot, for a single seven-minute interview. Meanwhile, Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, appeared 20 times to push unchallenged talking points. No Palestinian academics, activists, or human rights representatives were invited, and Palestinian American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has not appeared on these shows since 2019. This media bias reflects a broader institutional agenda that silences Palestinian voices and provides cover for Israeli aggression, as the Biden administration supports an ongoing genocide on Gaza.
