Last year during m's recurrent eczema flare-ups, we had to keep him indoors to avoid heat trigger. That was when we discovered this gem of a high elements place. there was a toddler-friendly low bouldering wall for m. for M who's older, there are high element pillars and thematic high walls to work on her balance, coordination, and height confidence. together, they teamed up to solve puzzles on the augmented climbing wall, which uses motion sensor technology to transform the wall into a series of mini-games. the games were so fun that m unknowingly got to the highest climbing hold at some point. note: 🧗‍♀️ supervising adult is required to ensure safety of children aged 12 years and younger if entering without an Outpost instructor 🧗‍♀️ each session is up-to-1.5 hours (inclusive of safety briefing and gearing up) 🧗‍♀️ call to check time slots for the day of your visit! Outpost runs on a time-slot model with a capacity limit. This means if you arrive later than the start time, you are still bound by the 1.5h duration of the time slot. Walk-ins are possible, but subject to availability 🧗‍♀️ you can climb in your own covered shoes read more about our experience on @littledayout blog: https://www.littledayout.com/outpost-climbing-rockclimb-boulder-gym/ 📍 Level 1 Fun Zone at Outpost Climbing (formerly known as T-Hall.SG) #01-464, 464 Crawford Lane, Singapore 190464 +65 9832 7656

school supplies shopping wholesale stationery store in JB finally emerged from eczema hell 🙈 to work on my Oct Kluang + JB reel backlog. some of you asked me for Christmas gift ideas or stocking stuffers - practical school supplies or replenishment of art and craft materials is my best recommendation 💛 I have @missyqiqi to thank for sharing this store in her blogs on JB itineraries (next on my list is Ninso, daiso-concept of everything at RM2.40, there's an outlet opp Memoland), and @jaslearningwithkids for inspiring me to be diligent in doing the cross references and currency conversions to show my savings on the products I picked (in this reel). the price benchmarks I used are non-member prices. if you join the RM10/year membership, you get to enjoy member prices on every product. it wasn't girl math when the cashier asked, "would you like to join the membership?" and my "noooo..." mid-way morphed into "yes please." it isn't me if I don't plug a gentle reminder on mindful consumerism hahaha. prices are irresistible but hold yourself accountable to the supplies you truly need. from a low tox perspective, I favor Faber Castell as the brand claims ALL Faber-Castell products are tested to be free from harmful substances. Pentel comes close as some products bear the ACMI's AP (Approved Product) seal. 📍Memoland Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. 12, Jalan Mutiara 3, Taman Perindustrian Plentong, 81750 Masai, Johor, Malaysia Roadside parking outside store *typo: third product is mistakenly labeled Faber Castell, the product is Pentel #sgkids #sgmummy #jb #johorbahru

"Would you consider a change of career?" "Would you pursue a different job?" "Is there any other kind of work that calls out to you?" v "You don't work?" "You're no longer working?" "When are you going back to work?" It's the choice of words. It's the underlining message. Work. Surely, we can be more inclusive in the way we use this term and not reserve it only for paid jobs? 😔 In my humble opinion, what stay home caters do at home is not just work work, but work belonging to the category of the highest order, because it's invisible, selfless and uncompensated work. have you heard of the terms "living room family" or "bedroom kid"? I grew up as a bedroom kid, my elder brother and I were fortunate to have a bedroom to ourselves (while my younger brother shared a room with my parents). It was my safe space and I treasured the privacy, but on hindsight, I spent most of my time in my own bedroom starting from primary school years, and as I got busier with school work, I would even take my meals in my bedroom. The home my husband and I have created for our kids is now fashioned after the "living room family" concept. Folks believe it's born out of necessity because we live in a Singapore hdb with limited rooms but we actually had the same setup in a 3-storey townhouse in the US hahaha. Maybe we've grown to be FOMO people, but we're now very used to hanging out in a shared space almost 24/7 (through the night too, since we have a bedsharing co-sleeping arrangement.) There's no right or wrong, better or worse option of the two — it's just what works for your unique family needs. I know of families who prefer grownup living room spaces for hosting, and prefers dedicated bedrooms for respective children's items. Here's how 1/2 of our living room play space looks like. Are you team "living room family" or "bedroom kid"? 💛 Blog piece on our sensory swing installation & experience: https://miraculove.com/Installing_Sensory_Swings_in_Our_Singapore_HDB_Flat%3A_A_Journey_of_Play%2C_Movement%2C_and_Safety Swing: @marloweandcokids from @amazon.sg

Longtime readers would know we sold our wooden climbing gym of 5 years to reset this space into a more open layout it has since brought calm in eczema-frenzied days for m, and healing during after-school restraint collapses for M 🤍 thankful to W @ourmightyexplorers who first exposed M to kids' aerial yoga at @mindful_space_ following up with a blog piece on installation of these sensory swings in our #hdb and answering questions fielded awhile back on safety measures etc.

tagged along with my elder brother on a 2D1N weekend trip into JB. I love how every JB trip differs because family and friends introduce us to different places. Saturday entered through Tuas second link brunch: @hockkeekopitiam in Eco Botanic (following the queue can't be wrong haha) play: @kidz_republic_jbcc (kids love the swing into the foam pit, after getting into the pit myself, would advise a mask to block out fine foam particles. kids enjoyed the additional drop-off clay art class. Komtar JBCC mall is linked to Holiday Inn, we didn't stay there, but you can read about @missyqiqi's stay on her blog) dinner: Arashi in Komtar JBCC (personal stainless steel mini hot pots) stay: @doubletree Hilton JB (frequented by my brother, who's a diamond member and enjoys the lounge privileges) note: walking is possible between komtar JBCC and doubletree Hilton, but passes through lots of construction and alleys with high car traffic — keep kids close, and hold them tight to cross roads Sunday breakfast: doubletree Hilton breakfast play: @fanpekka_my in Aeon Mall Tebrau City (M loves the zip line swing and open-ended housebuild. @forthekidsg has a reel on this Finnish conceptual play space, along with another reel on bumper cars next door) grocery top-up: Aeon Supermarket (wide selection of organic fresh produce and dry goods. I don't usually see organic coconut amino (soy sauce substitute) in store, surprised to find it here) what a fun weekend getaway and treat to explore more of JB with family 💛

We didn't have time to visit Ninso the last time we visited Memoland (nearby). Glad we could make time for Ninso this #JB trip! Thank you @missyqiqi for sharing about both Ninso and Memoland for value homeware & stationery. Ninso is like the 🇲🇾 counterpart of Daiso, offering affordable, value household items. Ninso's price point of RM2.40 roughly converts to S$0.72, which brings a lot of savings for certain products! We bought white translucent mesh bags for toy storage at home to replace upcycled cloth bags which though eco, were opaque so kids found it hard locating items. Thank you @anythingjamie for this practical and aesthetic toy storage idea! We also got stainless steel cookie cutters for our baking needs. Additionally bagged elastic hair ties (going for quantity because we lose them readily especially when outdoors 🙈) as well as craft washi tape bundles. The reel captures our experience with the items. At Ninso, there were stationery aisles with generic coloring supplies like color pencils, markers etc, but personally we prefer shopping at Memoland for familiar brands like Faber Castell. I've a previous reel on Memoland visit if you're interested. This is the Ninso standalone store in the Plentong area, feel free to drop by if you're in the area. Note if you don't wish to make a special trip there, there are other Ninso stores too, some are located in shopping malls! This Ninso Plentong store has Valu$ housed in it, so you can get snacks, beverages and home improvement knick knacks under one roof. 📍 Ninso Plentong 1, Jalan Johor Jaya, Taman Perindustrian Plentong 81750 Johor Bahru, Johor Darul Ta'zim, Malaysia

Mighty Explorers Journal M and I began daily journaling when she was a toddler. I came across the idea of visual journaling on Betty @chalkacademy. Visual journaling was for pre-writing children, who could document their day with drawing pictures before they were able to write. Over the years, M and I bonded over reminiscing our days together through journaling. With M transitioning to mainstream schooling, journaling helps me understand what goes on in school, sometimes beyond what she tells me verbally. Most of M's teachers are wonderful, I feel like we struck the lottery — except for one, whose language and actions have gotten to the point that formal feedback is required 🥹. I'm thankful for how journaling helps M process negative experiences, rewrite the narrative, and find healing in the process. We started using @ourmightyexplorers journal — a departure from our usual lined books with some space for sketching, as it comes beautifully illustrated with interesting activities and mind provoking questions. What's to love: 🌱 Daily inspirational quote on every page 🌱 Focuses on habit building with a 'habit tracker' - children color in a block for every daily journal and can see how far they've come 🌱 Gentle, encouraging language - respect child's privacy to sharing content, and to accept it's okay for the child to show reluctance to journal some days 🌱 Introduces big concepts like Empathy, Integrity, Boundaries etc in child-friendly, relatable, visual manner, offering practical tips. In the unit of Courage, I love how children are exposed to Circle of Control, whereby they can learn to focus on what's within their ability to control. In 'Boundaries' chapter, they can create their own 'Boundary Shield' and shape answers to situational questions that require them to say no. These are concepts I wished I learnt as a child, for instance— saying no is hard, but it's okay, because it's a way to take care of myself. As our children grapple with tests, homework, expectations, commitments, spending time and energy to daily journal may sound daunting, but @ourmightyexplorers makes it easy to fall into this delightful habit 💛 #yunniereviews ✍️: @hello_jayne

安的种子An's Seed With M graduating from homeschool into mainstream primary school and experiencing its systemic flaws yet seeing glimmers and growing in friendships and independence, I've been wondering if it's the right decision for her education, and trying to work on how to derive an answer I can truly be at ease with. I found a surprising, gentle companion in this journey of waiting—learning to be patient, to trust the process, and to let things unfold in their own time, 安的种子 (An’s Seed). A gentle fable about mindfulness, 安的种子 follows the journey of three young monks—Ben, Jing, and An—who are given the task of growing a lotus plant from a seed. One monk is too impetuous, one misguided, and one patient and wise. Through simple yet charming illustrations, the story beautifully conveys the lesson of following the natural order and choosing thoughtful action. 安的种子 reminds me that some things in life cannot be rushed. Growth happens beneath the surface, even when we can’t see it. Sometimes, all we can do is wait with faith and listen for the right cues to show themselves. in the last two pictures, toddler m integrates the storyline into his sensory rice play, talking about bidding his time for his 'seedling' to sprout If this story of trusting the timing resonates with you, there are limited copies of 安的种子 (slightly dented) available at clearance price at @mystorytreasury. A beautiful story to hold close in seasons of waiting. Find it on https://mystorytreasury.com 🌱 #yunniereviews

To all deep in the trenches of parenthood, it's okay not to have the time, energy, mood or help for 'special plans' today 🤍 Love also lives in the acts of service, affirmative words and quiet moments of solidarity happy day of love to all 〰️ 🎥: @rachaellongmanphotography (Perth)

👋 CNY 2025 we went out of our way to introduce CNY traditions to our kids back in our US days. it was difficult to source certain ingredients for festive dishes, we had to learn making them from scratch. I remember we had to rely on videos to show what lion dances are about hahaha thankful to celebrate with family these few years since our relocation, soaking in the festive vibes is almost effortless while initially it was hard for us to get used to the large gatherings, social interactions, social obligations, it's getting easier as the kids familiarize themselves with what CNY is about hope all of you had a memorable CNY 2025 too, till the next 💛 📖: 大家来过节 新加坡 传统节日与习俗 Let's Celebrate - Singaporean Festivals and Customs by @phrancphoo (highly recommend this book set on @mystorytreasury for learning about local cultures — not just Chinese, but Malay and Indian, a rich beautiful resource for our racially diverse society)
