Some people call it a shopping addiction but let’s just stick with being a maximalist.

Hey everyone. For those who are new here, I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Mike, a 33-year-old with a serious homeware obsession. Almost three years ago, I left my 10-year career as a Senior Buyer at @habitatuk to pursue my passion for vintage furniture. It was a big leap, but one I’ve never looked back on. Since then, my self-employed journey has evolved, and I’m now focused on content creation, collaborating with brands like @ebay_uk, @ikeauk, and @habitatuk. These experiences gave me the confidence to dive even deeper into this creative world. One thing I do miss from my buying days is product development. That’s why, about 18 months ago, I started a passion project—upcycling old metal furniture and splashing it with color to breathe new life into everyday pieces. I’m also obsessed with perforated metal (you can see my blue coffee table design in the last pic). This table will be the first product I officially launch as I begin a new chapter: creating my very own homeware and lifestyle brand. I’m so grateful for each and every one of you who follow and engage with my content. You’ve helped me build the life I’ve always dreamed of, and I can’t wait to share this exciting journey with you. Peace x

I must admit narrowing this down to just ten was a difficult task and with a few weeks left in 2024 there is potential for this to change.

Back in the country for less than 48 hours, and I’m already climbing the walls. Cabin fever hits different in the cold, dark winter months. Thankfully, we’re off to London for some Christmas shopping and a couple of events—because nothing says ‘festive cheer’ like battling crowds and pretending I’m not already over it.

Guess who did an entire unboxing video with their microphone switched off? Big thank you to both brands for these gifted pieces, they slot into our apartment perfectly.

Creating content over the last 12 months has enabled me to work with some incredible brands. Recently two independent brands reached and wanted to gift some pieces for us to enjoy within our apartment and they both fit in seamlessly. Can’t help but think @_artetica had me in mind when they were designing their product. Primary colours? Yes please chef. It’s a shame you can’t feel the quality of the @biquette_co throw through a picture but you will have to trust me on this one. The story behind the brand and they way they produce is also an inspiring one. Can we all just take a minute to appreciate how the green @hausdotcomstudio coffee table looks in this space. I will be making a video on all of these where you can hear me waffle on about them a little more but I got impatient and just had to share them with you all.

November 💩 A month of highs and lows. We may have just found the place we want to call home. Sunshine and 22 degrees in November? Hard to argue with that – although the art scene is… questionable. Spent lots of time with family, including this little rascal. Hosted a dinner party/photoshoot for @noelle.ltd new collection – she absolutely smashed the cooking as always. Popped over to Paris for a few days where it snowed, we ate some incredible food, and did a bit of retail therapy. Shame those Plona chairs weren’t for sale. The queen had her launch event for the new collection, and it was such an incredible evening. Somehow hit 20k of you on here this month, which I still can’t quite believe. I was meant to launch @hausdotcomstudio this month, but I’ve had to postpone until the new year. And sadly, my grandad passed away last week after a very short battle with cancer. He welcomed me into his family and treated me as one of his own from the start, showing that blood isn’t always thicker than water. Right up until the end, he was watching my Instagram videos – even at his age, he was good with tech (he set up my first computer) You were an incredible man who touched so many lives. The number of people who came to see you in your final days said it all. I’m proud to call you my grandad. When the day you’ve always been waiting for finally comes, I’ll make sure to save you a slice of cake. Sleep tight, Horace x

Is it just me, or did I master ventriloquism in this video? Anyway, this design is such a win—simple, effective, and fits the space perfectly. Plus, it’s ideal for those moments when I sit down, switch on the lamp, and pretend I’ve had a brilliant idea 💡

Today has been a rather strange one for me. I’ve had the chance to reflect on a few things and, as a result, I’m feeling at peace. I think we need to be more honest about the realities of working as a content creator. In a way, my apartment is my office. That said, it doesn’t always look as organised as it may seem on social media. For full transparency, this is exactly how the apartment looks as I write this caption. Here are some of the truths behind these images: We’re using one of my old, smaller prototypes as a makeshift coffee table while my current sample is at the factory, working on the first batch of stock. It also means we no longer have a table next to the chair in the corner. This is the corner of the living room you never see online – the storage area. Yet another job I haven’t got round to yet is sorting out a proper storage unit for that corner, so if you have any recommendations, they’d be much appreciated. The dining table essentially becomes a massive desk during the day. @noelle.ltd is working around the clock to prepare for the launch of her new collaboration, which goes live tomorrow. I’m also testing the incense burner, which I designed years ago and would love to develop further. My stock drop of the @ringadate arrives in the UK this week. I already have loads of pre-orders that will be sent out, so if you want one before Christmas, time’s running out. I feel a little better after that ramble. Peace x
