To my first baby… As my first pregnancy is coming to an end there are a few things I want to say… I’m going to miss seeing you for the first time on the ultrasound, hearing your heartbeat and knowing you were okay. I’ll miss watching my belly grow and checking my app to see what size fruit you were that week. I’ll miss feeling those first kicks, watching your dad hold my belly and talk to you at night. Selfishly, I’ll miss carrying you in my belly, having you all the myself & keeping you safe. I have loved every bit of being pregnant but there are so many things I can’t wait for I can’t wait to find out who you are, hear your first cry, soak in all the baby snuggles & smells and to bring you home. I can’t wait to read in the nursery your dad created from scratch, know what your first word will be, listen to your little laugh. I can’t wait to watch you take your first steps & see what kind of personality you have. I can’t wait to celebrate all your first holidays, create all our own traditions. I can’t wait to watch you chase lighting bugs in the summer, play in rain puddles, read bedtime stories, and see what kind of movies you like. I know I’m going to blink and time will be flying by.
