Recent pictures of the #mmberkeleyhillsproject (yesterday). No doubt only ten of you will see this, because the leading photo isn’t some super curated shot of a Negroni, a super cute picture of Henry, or me working out in the gym. Nonetheless, we’re moving quickly downhill, rapidly towards the finish line. Cabinets are going in, as is the tile. Hopefully drywall is done by next weekend! Come on! “Late Summer Construction Update” 🥴🫠 Two months ago, during a routine electric and plumbing inspection, the city of Berkeley told us that half of the exterior of the house (built in 1920) needed to be reinforced with sheer walls. This house had a precarious foundation to begin with (which we had already addressed through an extensive re-pouring of the concrete to reinforce the existing foundation), so this update took us somewhat by surprise. This was another frustrating part of this renovation, but something we had to address. This came after we had discovered that our cantilevered master suite also needed some major structural reinforcement. After many weeks of additional time, the exterior stucco was removed from over half of the house, and new sheer walls were installed. On a more positive note, this is hopefully our last bit of structural work. The open walls inside of the home meant that all new foam insulation had to be sprayed so we could pass inspection. This was three months of delays and additional work that hopefully means we have crested the top of the hill and are now on the downward slope towards having the house done. @greenberg_construction doing a stellar job as always. “Family Portrait!” 🫰📸 The last image from my series of posts celebrating our lives (and upcoming move) from our Silicon Valley home. This photo is a particular favorite from our 2023 shoot with @cesarrubiophotography. It was the end of the day, we were all a little tried and had spent nearly 10 hours shooting the home, and we decided to a few portraits of the home’s inhabitants… us.
