Who is Lim Yao Xiang? After 40yrs I am still discovering more about myself as I age. We are never where we thought we should be but wherever we are, the people that stayed with you defines who you are Maybe people came and left but these stayed for one reason or another. I spent so much time doing things I love and wondering what others thought of me but now, I do things I love, I am good at and with a clear conscience To the haters/cowards, in 2023, I hope you find the strength to approach me face to face:) Till then I will do what I do, and do it well.

Letting it all out in a blink of an eye We never know what the future holds, neither can we predict where our life journeys will take us. However, in my 34th year as an athlete, I found myself learning new things about myself and lessons. My method of success was always to stick to our crafts instead of jumping around once things get tough. It has came to my realisation that not many people cant do what I do. To stay in the lane, even when things continuously fail to meet your expectations year after year. But that’s how you grow as a person or an athlete, to learn about yourself during the tough moments, not constantly looking for comfort, but opportunities of growth. In 2024, I was utterly disgusted by an ex teammate was who half my age, said he was happy to see me fail in my races. Ironically as the person who has more success in my sport career even before he was born, my ego was hurt and maybe disappointment in him was so great that I chose to find the opportunity to stick it to him. So here you have it. I just BROKE A NATIONAL RECORD at age 43. To sum it up, keeping anger with ourselves might not be the best even if gives us a chip on our shoulder to do better. Just glad that this is over and I have benefited tremendously from this experience as a human and athlete:) Moving on to better and more records! #cmas #finswimmingcmas #finswimming #discipline #fitness #fitspo #mental #bodybuilding #gym #functionaltraining

More than 20 years after his first SEA Games gold in finswimming, Singapore’s @limyaoxiang is back on top — winning four medals at the World Championship Finswimming Indoor Masters in June, including gold in the 50m apnea and setting new Asian and national records. At 42, the former national water polo player also claimed two silvers, a bronze. Later, he also helped Merlion Masters 35+ to water polo gold at the World Aquatics Masters Championships. From finswimming, water polo to HYROX, Lim continues to show that age is no barrier. He has his eyes set on the world masters record at the next edition of the World Championship Masters. But up next, he will compete in the open category of the Finswimming World Cup this month. All the best, Yao Xiang! Full article via link in bio. 📸: @limyaoxiang

🎙️ “I never liked studying. I like learning, I don't like studying, especially if you put an exam at the end of the day.” This reel is less about career advice and more about life itself. Yaoxiang gets raw about staying true to yourself — even when your choices don’t fit society’s script. In this conversation, Yaoxiang shares: – His perspective on marriage – Questioning whether kids are truly purpose, or just an expectation. – Watching friends burn out chasing material markers: bungalows, cars, promotions. 💥 “Sometimes they tell me, ‘I want your life.’ Other times they say, ‘I feel like I lost 20 years of my life doing something I wasn’t interested in.’” The paradox of success is real. 👉🏽 The lesson? Staying true to yourself will invite judgment. People will question your choices. But the harder question is: what makes them right, and you wrong? 💩 This isn’t a polished story of following dreams. It’s a messy, imperfect reflection on what it means to live authentically in a culture that prizes conformity. 🎥 Watch the reel for this unfiltered take on success, marriage, and purpose. 🎧 Hear the full conversation on the Clean Your Toilet Podcast for deeper reflections on authenticity in Singapore’s context. ✅ Save if you’ve ever felt judged for living differently. 📤 Share with the friend stuck in “success” but unhappy. 👀 Follow @cleanyourtoiletpodcast for conversations that question the scripts we live by. #CleanYourToiletPodcast #InnerWork #PersonalMastery #WhatTrulyMatters #GetReal #MessyButWorthIt #Authenticity #StayTrue #LifeChoices #SuccessVsHappiness

No one remembers the results but the memories and experiences. Never would I have planned a trip only 3 weeks in advance. Let alone to a race which I never trained for specifically. Thank you to my other lim bro @hanflim for being so spontaneous and bringing this old man to enjoy life a bit more than I dare to. #hyroxtraining #hyroxworld #hybridathlete #travel #fitness #fitspo #fitfam

2nd Master World Champio title this year Water polo. This sport was once my life. After a series of negative experiences with toxic individuals and behaviours, I started distancing myself from the game and the people. Glad this group decided to reach out to me despite being rejected a few times, I was worried that being less than the player I was, meant I should step away but this short experience reminded me that it is also the memories formed with these men in our youths that are important.
