Congratulations to us. We just got married.

Ho gai siao. Tagged by @danieldarrenng who tagged by @cinval to do the #sg60challenge where you have to do a 60 rep challenge. So naturally I chose my favourite. BURPEES!! I admit. After 30, I was asking myself why I never choose squats or lunges. But not bad. 60 burpees in 3:20 mins. I tag @jinhbean next.

I wasn’t planning to race Hyrox Singapore after 2+ weeks in the US & Canada (jetlag was REAL 😵‍💫), but when a friend couldn’t make it—FOMO kicked in and I jumped in last min to race Doubles with @crysmeth 😅 Even though I felt groggy, the adrenaline kicked in. We stuck to our strategy: I paced, Josh chased, and I started + ended each station so he could recover before the next run. Our splits are in the reel 💥 Honestly, this unexpected race turned out to be so much fun. Grateful for the chance to race with a solid partner and soak in the vibes with the Hyrox SG fam 🇸🇬 Age group rank: 21 out of 173 Now time for a short off-season… but 👀 plans for my next Doubles race are already in motion. Happenings this morning during leg day. 😍😍

Today’s Hyrox journey started in 2024! Last year I signed up for June Hyrox but one week before I was hospitalised. I remember being super FOMO watching all the stories and reels of Hyrox on IG. Hyrox was nice to give me a free credit for 2024 Oct Expo. I was training well but then I busted my knee 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. This time, the FOMO wasn’t that strong because physically I knew I was not able to complete it. Fast forward to 2025. HYROX was super nice again to give me a free pass. They told me this is the final chance they can help and was super bless to have @danieldarrenng as my partner. He really pushed me to my limits. The body is stronger than the mind thinks it is. So when the mind is begging to give up, the body is still able to take much more. Kudos to Darren for indirectly showing me that, setting a pace that I was uncomfortable enough but not be impossible, strategising the stations and almost tanking the sandbag lunges as my hammies were cramping. Not forgetting he just touch down from Chicago a day back and still jet lag. Also thanks to @cookies77. She continue to join in almost all the trainings including 2 hyrox simulations even though she’s not doing it. She just wanted to accompany me. Was my biggest cheerleader during this entire period. Extremely proud to just see her pushing through all her training. Special shout out to all the @bft_mountbatten guys who trained together. It’s your encouragement that drives both steph and me on !!!! We really trained very hard Hor. First time MB got podium and 2 some more. Well done you guys !! So. What’s next. For sure Singapore Expo 2025, 29-30 Nov. definitely will sign up. Who knows what else will come by? Whatever the case, the best is yet to be. Onwards and upwards.
