Annual Value (AV) is used to determine the amount of property tax you need to pay for your residential property. It is the estimated gross annual rent of the property if it were to be rented out, excluding furniture, furnishings and maintenance fees. Property owners can check out the AV of their property on the Combined Valuation Notice and/or property tax bill, which they would receive from Dec 2024. #PropertyTax2025 #UnderstandingAV #AnnualValue

IRAS has been alerted to scam calls impersonating IRAS officers. Beware if you receive calls where callers claim to be IRAS officers informing that you have outstanding taxes or that you need to attend an interview due to tax evasion involving unreported income. If you do not have any outstanding tax matters with IRAS, be alert to such calls as they could be scams.   Please note that IRAS officers will not ask you to provide any personal, credit card, or bank account details to make payment over the telephone. For tax matters, we will direct you to transact safely on myTax Portal (mytax.iras.gov.sg), where you can check if you have any outstanding taxes. Visit https://go.gov.sg/iras-scam to learn how IRAS protects you from scams.

A heartfelt thank you to our outgoing Commissioner Mr Ng Wai Choong for his exceptional leadership at IRAS. Mr Ng’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in advancing IRAS over the past seven years, especially through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under his leadership, numerous transformation initiatives were launched to strengthen the organisation, and aimed at supporting our economy, society and citizens. This includes making tax rules simpler for small businesses, promoting digital tools for tax compliance, establishing IRAS as a leader in enterprise disbursement, and strengthening partnerships in the digital ecosystem. A leader who cares and inspires, Mr Ng also drove organisational transformation and capability development, ensuring all employees were supported and engaged every step of the way. We thank Mr Ng for his invaluable contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Please join us in welcoming our incoming Commissioner, Mr Ow Fook Chuen, as we continue our mission to transform the taxpaying experience, and partner the community for nation-building and inclusive growth. www.straitstimes.com/singapore/accountant-general-ow-fook-chuen-named-new-iras-chief
