It’s been a shift, that’s for sure! They say the older you get the wiser, but I don’t know if that’s what changed my perspective- or it was the curiosity of just something feeling off when I worked in big medicine & exploring fully my own body & what feels right. Without any scientific data of what’s good for you & what’s not- I’m my own experiment. Why is regenerative medicine such a passion? This is just the beginning of my story. The trip that changed everything. As we are just days away from meeting our baby girl- he’s known me longer pregnant than not 🤯🤯 But what’s even funnier is there is no doubt, no question, no thought that this isn’t exactly where we’re meant to be. Trying to plan, guess, & manipulate what is already divinely orchestrated just causes more chaos. Trust. Release. & Feel free 💕

I know people who are now having to go through insurance && now paying $1500 per month for the brand name. It’s OUT OF CONTROL. And so obvious it’s all for cash & control of these life saving peptides <literally nothing worse for your health than being overweight & insulin misregulated> But SO many are fighting back! What I see from companies is: -“we have a solution with the name brand” -“we’re willing to keep compounding with now X product mixed with it” -“we have it from a laboratory, not pharmacy. Our farmhouse was redone about 1 year before we moved in. They turned the garage into the master suite & it’s been a dream to have a space that’s separated from the rest of the house. But with a new baby coming, it doesn’t make sense to give her a nursery so far away. This means baby girl will be spending lots of time in our room for her first year or so of life. So one of the first rooms we wanted to tackle in the home was our master bedroom. We had just taken old furniture & belongings / short term items from previous homes & threw them in this room. TBH we both felt a little ick when in the bedroom because we knew it wasn’t what we wanted. So before baby got here, we made it a priority to focus on making our room feel like a sanctuary. We wanted it to feel safe, cozy, & free of toxins. Something that you could sit in all day < be up all night> during the longer newborn days and feeds. So we used our amazing realtor and friend, Heather with @shoppevanhorn to help this vision come to life. The room was inspired by a photograph we had purchased from @douglasstrattonphotography . This photo reminded us of our second date in Kauai (where the photo was taken) && the room took shape around that. I mean, what a shot!!! From this photo the inspiration grew. We wanted to feel like we were back in one of our favorite places, Hawaii. We incorporated lots of plants, natural wood, a water element & soft lighting like Himalayan salt lamps <because we literally HATE overhead lights>. We even connected the Sonos to play frequencies at night *🧑‍🍳 💋 * We were already using a grounding pad <highly recommend this hack> but we wanted some fabrics on the bed we could trust. So much out there is full of polyester & that’s just ain’t it. I recently found @onequince, an ethically woven linen from European flax- it’s mid weight & feels as good as it looks. Super affordable for the quality & it’s been a dream to sleep in. We also upgraded to a lightweight duvet <because bring on the post partum night sweats> I purposely hid baby girls wall -but will share soon- I’m curious, have yall had the baby in the master? Ever wondered if floating shelves in a kitchen could be actually useful? Well when you’re married to a chef, you have no options but to make them sturdy && functional The owner before us (@heatherlumaylifestyle ) a true soul sister, actually had the same vision when she installed this beautiful brick wall in the kitchen behind the hood. It may have taken us a few months & some nesting, but we got it completed with Justin’s handy skills & some creative thought. We didn’t pack a hospital bag this time… But we did a few things to get us ready for a home birth 🫶🏻🫶🏻 It’s been SO much fun this time around preparing for baby girl to be Earthside with us. “Ya so if you want to have kids… it needs to be a home birth” Him: “is there any other way” Part 1 on why home birth has been the choice for number 3 🫶🏻🫶🏻 As we get closer I know that it’s not in our hands && that even if we do have a hospital transfer I’ve learned so much from midwifery & feel confident & secure in laboring as much as we can at home. Be grateful for the triggers, they point you to where you are not yet free. Coming from a place of gratitude & self awareness is the journey. It’s not about the linear “perfectness” it’s about the growth within. The acceptance, the flow, the love for the hard times, & the small imperfect changes we see each and everyday.
