Winter break doesn’t have to mean losing momentum. Before break, our students completed mid-term assessments. Some did great. Others showed us where they’re still growing — and that’s exactly what learning is meant to do. At Elite Performance Prep Academy, we believe growth continues when students are supported right where they are. Progress isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it doesn’t pause just because routines change. So we approached winter break with intention. We created 7 flexible, age-appropriate activities to keep learning light and engaging. Most are optional, one is intentional, and each student received a learning basket filled with supplies to support curiosity at home. Not every student will participate - and that’s okay. This isn’t about pressure or perfection. It’s about keeping momentum, building confidence, and supporting steady growth over time. Families are our partners in this work. JA BizTown wasn’t just a field trip… it was a glimpse into the future. 💼✨ Elite West Valley joined our sister centers from Spanish Fork, Nephi, and Provo for a full day of real-world responsibility at Junior Achievement BizTown — and our students rose to the occasion. For months, they’ve been building the foundation: understanding money, exploring careers, practicing interviews, and learning how businesses actually function. But at BizTown, theory turned into action. There were moments of pressure. Moments of problem-solving. Moments where they had to figure it out without an adult stepping in. And they did. Watching them communicate with confidence, make financial decisions, adjust when things didn’t go as planned, and support their teammates was the real win. This wasn’t about pretending to run businesses — it was about stepping into leadership and realizing, “I can do this.” Experiences like this don’t just teach economics. They build identity. Our 3rd-5th graders have spent the last couple months learning about business, economics, citizenship, career readiness, and financial literacy. They evaluated their skills and interests, applied for, then interviewed for jobs. They spent time preparing for their jobs before hand… all for this grand finale! We spent the day at JA Biztown where they ran their job/business for the day. We had CEOs, CFOs, Stock Managers, Sales Managers, Brand Ambassadors, Operation Specialists and more! It was SO AMAZING to see. Adults did very little to help; these kids ran the show on their own. Kids are so capable when we give them the knowledge and tools to succeed. I’m so proud of my students! Thank you JA Biztown, this was an incredible experience!

Today at Junior Achievement BizTown, our students didn’t just learn about business; they became CEOs, bankers, entrepreneurs, and team leaders. Hands-on experiences like this build more than knowledge. They build: ✔️ Confidence ✔️ Communication skills ✔️ Financial literacy ✔️ Problem-solving under pressure ✔️ Leadership in action When students get the opportunity to make decisions, manage money, serve customers, and work as a team, something shifts. 🎉 Holiday Fun Day Highlights! 🎄 We wrapped up the semester with laughter, creativity, and holiday cheer! From team-building and gingerbread house challenges to ornament decorating and a lively White Elephant exchange, our students showed collaboration, leadership, and joy in action. A massive shout-out to the Green Class (K-2) for crushing their diagnostic growth and celebrating with a special treat! 🙌 We loved spending time acknowledging and celebrating all student achievements! A yummy pizza party was followed by afternoon fitness fun at the West Valley Rec Center with Coach Tasha. We ended the day by sending everyone home with a gift basket—a Holly Jolly Break Bundle—to kick off our Winter Challenge. More about that later. 🏡 From Classroom to Construction Site! - Final 2025 Field Trip 👷 Last Thursday, Elite WVC students toured three SLCC project homes in West Jordan, each at a different stage of construction—from framed walls with visible wiring to a nearly finished home ready for cabinetry, and even one already on the market! Our older students not only wrapped up their Real Estate Series, but they also jumped into a measuring scavenger hunt with tapes and levels. Our youngest littles explored teamwork in engineering—and everyone got hands-on with a spaghetti & marshmallow tower challenge! 👏 Huge thanks to SLCC Associate Dean Dave James, Professor Boyd Johnson, and their amazing Construction Management students for hosting us. For the past two weeks, our students dove deep into paleontology and geology—learning about dinosaurs, fossils, crystals, and minerals. ✅ They dug for fossils ✅ Cracked open geodes (thank you Fuimaono family!) ✅ Grew salt crystals ✅ Some researched their favorite dinosaurs and gave presentations to their classmates We wrapped up this immersive learning experience with an unforgettable field trip to Dinosaur Park in Ogden, where life-sized dinosaur sculptures and a natural history museum made science feel REAL.
