Jim’s been busy dividing dahlias. Today he was able to finish up varieties Cecil and 20th Softer Avenue Peach. Both absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to see them again next season! 👏 I have one more seed order to place (so stoked to grow several new varieties in 2025). Soon, I will start the process of mapping out the cut flower fields and show gardens for next season. Always such a fun and creative task and I’ll share my process and the new varieties we will grow. My hero. This guy divides every single tuber on our flower farm. So grateful for him! He’s got several varieties done (check out the pictures of a few varieties that are divided so far). Jim will continue working on this project for the next 2-3 months. 💪 Our dahlia tuber sale goes live on January 18th at 9am so mark your calendars. Oh! I absolutely love the late season color that dahlias provide in the garden. Yes, some of the dahlias in the Cottage Garden looked tall and amazing, but many of them flopped over and broke off big sections of the plant. 😭 So next season I’m going to experiment with different support options. I would love to hear any ideas you all have as well. I got the bows made (which full disclosure I’m not good at making bows LOL) to decorate the wreaths on the front doors of the cottage. So now she is officially decorated for the holidays. Next, we will decorate the inside of the cottage. Honestly still not feeling the holiday season yet but hoping the decorations will help. 🤞 The song “where are you Christmas” is running through my head right now. 🎄 In other news….I chose all the pictures for our 2025 Bochner Farms calendar and I am so excited. I think it’s gonna be so beautiful. It was hard to decide since there were so many gorgeous photos to choose from. Which do yo prefer? The wreath with the dried flowers added for some color, or just pure with greens and pine cones only? I haven’t attached the dried flowers yet so would love your thoughts on which looks best. 👍 My daughter Miranda and I had a great time at @tedsgardens for their wreath making workshop this morning. Lots of gorgeous greens to choose from plus they were extra helpful in teaching us how to make the wreath. The Cottage Garden. Spring flower bulbs are planted and she’s settling in for her long winters nap. I can’t wait to see the blooms next spring. 🌷 In the meantime, Jim and I are working hard on a new huge project that we will announce on February 1st.
