sunlight and onyx storm takeover We had some sunlight peaking over the mountains yesterday and in only six days from now we’ll be celebrating “Day of the Sun” in Tromsø. Because that’s when the sun finally appears above the horizon after the Polar Night. It’s been totally out of sight for months now and I want it back. We’ll eat baked goods and I’ll make sure to get out and watch it climb over the mountains and maybe cry a little because damn it y’all I miss the sun so bad and I need spring like, yesterday. You want to know what else is happening in six days? Onyx Storm is coming and it’s taking over my life. I will not eat. I will not sleep. I will read and repeat. 21st of January truly is a day for celebration. LOVE. Now fingers crossed Rebecca doesn’t screw me over because if V and D ends up together I will not recover. Until then I’ll be completing the Dreamland Billionaires series. I started Final Offer almost a year ago and never finished it hehe. You see, ToG and BoT entered my life and all other series were quickly forgotten and put to the side ♡

First Reread: The Brothers Lionheart I’ve been recommending this book a few times whenever someone has posted other classics within the children section, because it’s without a doubt one of my absolute favorite books of all time. I’ve never actually read the book in English before, only in Swedish (once) and in Norwegian (like a hundred times since I was six) - so I’m beyond excited to be reading this and taking annotations tonight ♡ The Brothers Lionheart by Astrid Lindgren is a children’s fantasy novel about two brothers who love and care for each other deeply. They both pass away very young for different reasons and the true story of the Lion brothers start after their death, reunited in Nangiyala - where they get to explore amazing adventures together. Even though the story is originally a children’s book, it does contain some dark themes in true Astrid Lindgren style. Disease, death, betrayal and rebellion are some of the tropes you’ll get in this beautiful 188 pages long novel, and it’s worth every second. The darker themes hits different as an adult, and I always get teary because of how devastatingly beautiful it is in its simplicity. With that said, fingers crossed you’ll add this to your “classics” or “novels” tbr stack for 2025. This is a book that is well known in Scandinavia and I would love for it to be read in other countries as well. I hope this post got your attention and made you consider it 🫶🏻

Last purchase of twenty four 🫶🏻 This year I’ve decided to dive deeper into new genres. I’ve always wanted to read more fiction and novels, and it feels right to start off the year with a Han Kang book. Her books have stared at me from the shelves at work and been begging me to read them. “YOU’LL LOVE US” they scream in pure desperation. I decided to give in. There are mainly three bookstagrammers I will take inspiration from this year. Their post are GIVING and every time they do post I want to read almost every single book they’re reviewing - I was also given some suggestions that I’ll be ordering first thing tmr so they’re ready for me on my tbr shelf the next months. Honestly, if you’re not following them yet I don’t know what you’re doing because their accounts are impeccable! @notesfromliterature @oloffffy @coolgalreading 🤍 What are your book goals for 2025?

22nd of December 🎄 My favorite book post of the year - little miss sass. Disney Advent Calendar 🐀Ratatouille Christmas is right around the corner and it feels so surreal that this year is going to be all over soon. I know I say it every year but how did time fly like this? I can’t wrap my mind around it. And the fact that this was my first year in my thirties? I was 25 just five minutes ago, what happened there?

21st of December 🎄 September & October recap 2024. Slide 1: I got a new furniture in the living room! Slide 2: The Northern Lights was GIVING this fall ♡ Slide 3: Went secondhand shopping with some friends. Slide 4: Enjoyed the colors outside with my boo and nugget. Slide 5: My shelves were a mess per usual.. Slide 6: Baked a lot of fall coded goodies yummmmss. Slide 7: Met @therealabidraja who writes beautiful books!! Slide 8: Made my first cheesecake, lemon flavored ♡ Slide 9: Bought Intermezzo, my first Sally Rooney book. Slide 10: Curled my hair almost daily love love love. As I’ve mentioned in my earlier posts, this fall was my first since being a child I’ve actually felt present. To be able to go through the darker months of Norway and enjoy little thing is something I thought was never going to happen to me. Fighting with anxiety, depression and feeling “less then” has been a struggle ever since I was 13 and finally I’ve come to a place where I feel calm, collected, content and all around at peace. It’s been a long battle but damn I’m proud of where I am and who I am - and I’m so thankful for this fall and all the beautiful people I have in my life. Not to mention the amazing and kindhearted bookish friends I’ve made ♡ Disney Advent Calendar 🐕 Coco Tonight I’ll be watching movies, eating Cheese Doodles and just enjoy where I am and how I got here ♡
