DEVESTATED Is the best way to describe how I feel after reading The Well of Ascension. This entire post contains spoilers (the description and pictures) so tread cautiously. -The Sazed and Tindwyl storyline EATS -The Sazed and Tindwyl storyline spat me back up and I am a heap of tears -I did not expect the deaths we had -I did not expect the kandra lore we’d get and the outcome. That actually had me GASPING and clutching the book. -We get more Vin and Elend but, to me, their pairing is just ok. Kind of standard. But that’s why the S+T pairing EATS. -The fact that B. Sando can continue to Introduce new elements to this world without making them seem out of left field is amazing. I am loving this trilogy. I do feel like he is doing in 3 books what others do in 8+ books. My b. So far in January… Off to a brilliant start! I’ve enjoyed all my reads in one way or another. I would recommend them depending on what you’re looking for. I feel like they were vastly different, but maybe that’s what’s keeping me reading. Onto my 6th read of the year: Arsenic and Adobo AND I’m trudging along with Braiding Sweetgrass. Kicking off my 2025! I’ve finished two audiobooks (one I started in December) and am on my third audiobook (The Favorites —YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO IT). I’m currently reading two physical books: Braiding Sweetgrass and The Well of Ascension. To tackle the nonfiction I plan to read with 20-30 minute timers to chunk it out. It’s my first book in the ICYMI Backlist challenge and I’m eager to start out on the right foot! Once I’ve finished Braiding Sweetgrass, I’ll be unwrapping one of my preselected books as part of the #ReadMyShelf2025 challenge. I might get another nonfiction, a YA, a romance, who knows!
