Hi Sketchers! This month, we're heading to Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade to soak in the festive spirit of Christmas and welcome the new year! As we celebrate 2024 and welcome 2025, we can look upon our ever-changing skyline, adorned with skyscrapers, both old and new, and reflect on the changes in our city. With MBS Tower 4 starting construction in 2025, more change is to be expected in the area. Hi sketchers, This Saturday, we will be going to the Former Bukit Timah Railway Station! NParks website: The conserved Bukit Timah Railway Station building was built in 1932 and is one of two extant railway stations in Singapore. Along with its key architectural and railway elements, the railway station has been sensitively and carefully restored and repurposed as a heritage gallery for visitors to learn about its history and that of the Rail Corridor. Please note that there won’t be a briefing at 10.15am. IJY #105 Thian Hock Keng Temple Hi sketchers! We will be heading to Thian Hock Keng Temple this Saturday to sketch! Did you know Thian Hock Keng Temple is Singapore’s oldest Chinese temple that dates all the way back to the 1800s? The temple is of a traditional southern Chinese style architecture and features detailed carvings and broken porcelain on the roof ridges, a Fujian decorating technique.
