Big win for first-home buyers! The federal government has brought forward the expanded Home Guarantee Scheme to 1 October 2025, giving buyers the chance to purchase with as little as a 5% deposit and no LMI. What does that mean in real terms? 👉 A Brisbane first-home buyer could secure a $1 million home with $50k down, saving around $42,000 in LMI and cutting years off the time it takes to save a deposit. The update also removes income caps and limits on places, while lifting property price caps to better reflect today’s market. Supporters say it’ll get more Australians into their own homes faster. What do you think? Will this scheme make buying easier, or just heat up competition? Comment below. #RayWhite #PropertyUpdate #FirstHomeBuyer

Because nothing says prestige quite like Point Piper. Located in Point Piper, 4/23 Wentworth Street was originally a 3-storey mansion transformed into apartments. With panorama views of the harbour to the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and beyond to Manly, it really couldn't get any better than this. @elliottplacks Ashley Bierman @raywhitedoublebay See more in our bio. #RayWhite #Property #Sydney #BellevueHill #LuxuryProperty #HarbourBridge

Are we building enough homes or just the wrong kind? Australia needs 1.2 million new homes in 5 years, a target we’re unlikely to hit. To speed things up, the government has frozen environmental updates to the building code until 2029. But here’s the catch, are we trading liveability and sustainability for short-term supply? Take our quiz to see how much you know about the trade-offs shaping Australia’s housing future 👉 #RayWhite #Property

What would you do at an auction if you were bidding for your dream home? This week, we heard some heartfelt auction stories from our buyers and sellers. The buyers of 6 Kinsella Street, Illawong, were a local family who lived down the street and were upsizing; meanwhile, the sellers had lived in the home for 14 years and had decided it's time for a seachange. Meanwhile in Penrith, 25 Castlereagh Street, has achieved outstanding results, with 7 registered bidders showing buyer confidence. The story that really stood out was Rita and John from 16 Bellavista Avenue, Clapham, who sold their family home of 10 years to relocate to Victor Harbor. A Sydney family purchased it as their first home in South Australia. With the recent change in the First-home buyer scheme, we're seeing more serious competition in the market across all price points. This week, it wasn’t just a beachfront home in Dicky Beach that sold, it was 4 generations of family memories finding their next chapter. After more than 50 years in their beloved Sunshine Coast home, the Clarke family decided it was time for someone else to fall in love with 16 Cooroora Street. “Mum had her art room here looking out to the sea, it feels like the right time to let someone else breathe life into this block,” they shared. Under the hammer, the property sold for $5.4 million, marking the top sale of the day nationally, and a new chapter for one of the coast’s most cherished addresses. That’s the beauty of auctions, where history, heart, and future come together. #RayWhite #Auctions

Have you noticed how strong Australia’s property market has been holding up? Even with the Reserve Bank’s surprise decision to pause rate cuts in July, prices are still sitting close to record highs. Here’s what’s driving the market 👇 ▶️ National house and apartment prices are holding firm, showing that demand hasn’t slowed despite rate uncertainty in July. ▶️ Perth and Sydney apartments are leading the charge, proving buyers are looking for more affordable ways into the market. ▶️ Areas like WA and South Australia continue to shine, with regional markets outperforming the capitals. ▶️ Fewer listings are keeping supply tight, with strong auction clearance rates and plenty of bidders competing for each property. ▶️ Now that interest rates have cut this month, conditions could get hotter as more buyers jump in. Take a deeper dive into these insights in our bio. #RayWhite #RayWhiteNow #Auctions #AustralianHousePrices
