I've received questions about the clay I use. ⚠️ I don’t use fondant (and I’ve never used it before, so I don’t even know how to work with it). I use only non-edible, air-dry clays. So, its clay Brands I use: 1.Modern Clay – Clay from Thailand Suitable as a basic clay for all types of flowers and leaves(exists with a green label too,Iv found no diff between them) Pros: • Easy to work with • Semi-transparent • Flexible as I like Cons: • Creates a plastic-like effect after drying • Dries to a grayish tone (not pure white) • Also, the flexibility is not ideal for large petals, as it requires reinforcement and is sensitive to moisture. 2. Fiber Clay 301 – Also Thai clay. Basic one. Ideal for all types of flowers, including larger ones (exist various types/numbers with different effects and tones). Pros: • Smooth and non-sticky; easy to work with • Matte finish after drying • Dries to a cool white, giving bright and clear colors Cons: • Not as flexible once dry as I like (though this is good for large petals) • Less transparent after drying 3.Milan Cold Porcelain – Spanish clay Ok for leafs and stems due to its transparency. (Do not recommend for begginers and actually its not situable for flowers, i guess its ok for figures) Pros: • Smooth texture once dry • Transparent, ok for leaves and stems • Dries to a clear finish Cons: • Sticky and difficult to work with • Significant shrinkage • Less moisture-resistant than other clays • After drying, it does not hold its shape and creates waves along the edges of the petal 4. Soft Clay: An auxiliary clay used in combination with Modern Clay to eliminate the plastic effect.
