It’s 4am this morning, I’m finally asleep after 54 hot flushes, 4 loo visits and a barrage of snoring from the three males I share a bedroom with 🙋‍♂️🐕‍🦺🦮… then I’m suddenly stirred by those familiar sounds of our little boy Indy, preparing to gift us with a regurgitation of most of his evening meal 🐕‍🦺 (it’s not uncommon; he’s always been the chundering one) … I hear the build up to it, roll out of bed and shout “Jason! Grab an old towel, quick!” In the meantime, the only other nearby vessel to catch the mess in, is my lovely satin, flowery dressing gown 😱…An hour later (well, it felt like it ~ jeez, why do men take so long?!?!) still no sign of missing husband, even though the bathroom is literally three feet away! I’m rolling up my lovely robe, thinking of phoning the police and reporting him missing, cursing under my breath, ready to catch everything projectile, when up he finally pops, our saviour of the day 🙋‍♂️ … Out of all the towels in the world he could grab, what does he pass me…. the FANCY ONE!!!! Wtf!! 🤬… suffice to say he got the towel thrown back at him and my robe took one for the team.. husbands!!! 😇😇St Trish Incoming!!😇😇 40 HOURS TO GO!!! 🙌 Yep, the big day’s finally upon us…. The day I have to wrestle the gin bottle from her clutches, bundle her wild red fizzog into the car and drag the bible-bashing ‘Holy See’ off to meet her shiny new hip replacement.🦵 It’s not our crazy God Squadder’s first rodeo, (she’s had both knees done) tho I did question if they’d find any actual blood circulating around her this time and not just gin 🥃, but the doc’s assured me she’s got a sufficient supply! She’s having a cocktail of epidural/happy juice so she’ll be awake but high as a kite…no doubt she’ll yabber their ears off while they’re trying to operate on her. Poor unsuspecting souls. 🫣 She’s packed and ready: 🔅Holy water ✅ 🔅Book of God ✅ 🔅Rosary beads ✅ 🔅Halo polish ✅ 🔅Catholic Mothers Monthly✅ 🔅TV Weekly ✅ 🔅Gnashers Dish ✅ 🔅Floor length nightie ✅ 🔅Knickers the size of a small horse✅ 🔅A years supply of Tenaladies ✅ 🔅iPad ~ for watching mass on Sunday 🙏🏻/ doing jigsaw puzzles/ Pavers shopping 👞 / Crochet pattern browsing (she doesn’t crochet) / scrolling George Clooney pics ✅ 🔅Headphones ~ for Michael Ball & Alfie Boe on loop ✅🎧😱 I’ve sent the physio a few bottles of St Trish’s fave gin so they can dangle them in front of her, just out of her reach, to quickly get her up and moving after the op! It’ll be the quickest recovery on record!
