We are beings of light, and the science can back it up. Biophotons are light particles that are produced by, and within, biological organisms. They are a type of bioluminescence used as a means of cellular communication at the quantum level. Here’s something you should know: Every cell in your body emits biophotons. How about that for a fact that you didn’t learn about in your standardized medical textbook. Biophotons are composed of ultraweak photon emissions, typically in the ultraviolet and visible light spectrum. They’re referred to as Extremely Low-Frequency UV (ELF-UV) light. If I’m correct, this can also be labeled as UV-C light. They were first discovered and popularized by Russian scientist Alexander Gurwitsch in the 1920s. He coined the term “mitogenetic radiation” to describe these ultraweak photon emissions. Later on, the work of biophysicist Dr. Fritz Popp expanded upon his work. These biophoton emissions are not random, but rather, they exhibit patterns and rhythms that reflect the organism’s physiological state. Biophotons play a crucial role in various cellular processes, such as cell division, cell differentiation, and even DNA/RNA processes. The light within is just as important as external light. And it turns out that you need the full light spectrum from the sun in accordance with circadian principles to produce this endogenous ELF-UV light. What a shocker. A circadian, diurnal species which goes against its evolutionary programming increases its risk for premature death through chronic circadian disruption. Your body doesn’t want darker days and brighter nights because it’s a circadian system. It wants brighter days outside and darker nights with minimal circadian-friendly lighting. It never fails to blow my mind. Here are some real life examples of this. 1. DNA: A single DNA molecule is incredibly small, yet it encodes all the genetic information necessary to build and sustain life. The double helix structure is simple, but its function is profoundly intricate. 2. Seeds: A seed is a compact and simple structure, yet it contains all the information and energy required to grow into a massive, complex tree or plant. 3. Honeycomb Structure: Bees create hexagonal honeycomb patterns, which are simple yet maximize space efficiency and structural integrity. This design emerges from basic instinctive behavior but solves a complex engineering problem. 4. Water Molecule (H2O): Water is a simple molecule made of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, yet it supports nearly all life on Earth and demonstrates extraordinary properties like cohesion, adhesion, and high heat capacity. 5. “The eye, which depends on light to see, also needs light to develop normally during pregnancy.” Melanopsin is our blue light sensing protein, which is found throughout the body. It’s found nearly everywhere from the eyes to the brain to the subcutaneous fat. Amniotic fluid absorbs light most significantly in the ultraviolet (UV) and blue light spectra, with relatively less absorption in the longer wavelengths such as red and infrared light. Do you think it’s a coincidence that amniotic fluid absorbs blue light strongly, considering the importance of melanopsin (blue light sensor) activation? There are a million other reasons why expecting mothers should be sunbathing with skin and eyes in the game. It is the most important habit pregnant women can develop. Circadian alignment is mandatory if you have a family history of heart disease or want to protect yourself from all chronic disease in general. The heart is a circadian organ which responsible favorably to both forms of endogenous melatonin, provided by the light and dark cycle. You need more sunlight on your bare skin. You need more strict blockage of artificial light. You need more darkness after sunset. Believe it or not, this sounds too simple as a foundational strategy to protect oneself from chronic cardiovascular diseases. But, that’s the beauty of our circadian system. Nature condenses the most complex systems and mechanisms into the most simple action steps. And the answer is no, melatonin supplementation doesn’t come close to replicating endogenous melatonin, in much the same way that Vitamin D3 pills are a piss poor “replacement” for sunbathing. This is as real as it gets. Modern Scientism™️ has done a number on people by warping their view of reality. You don’t acquire truth and wisdom about nature through a hyper-reductionist lens. If you’re a scientist or researcher, you more than anybody else, need to spend more time in nature and touch grass. Observe the wildlife. Pick up on the subtle nuance and magic. Explore the relationships between organisms. The greatest scientific thinkers of our time did this. Viktor Schauberger comes to mind. Schauberger spent extensive time in forests, rivers, and streams, observing how water flows naturally. He noticed patterns, such as how water spirals in vortexes and meanders in curves, rather than moving in straight lines. He closely studied the behavior of water in pristine environments, particularly in high-altitude streams, and how this contrasted with degraded environments. He focused on the vortex motion of water, which he believed was its natural way of moving. He argued that this spiral motion helps maintain water’s vitality and energy. Using his observations, he designed devices such as the Repulsine and implosion engines, which were based on his understanding of vortex dynamics and aimed to harness water’s energy for practical uses. His Plogiston Log Flume improved the efficiency of log transport and reduced water use, showcasing his practical applications of water dynamics. This is how you create a more comprehensive approach to science. You study nature and take inspiration from its perfection. Another big shoutout to @tristan_health for posting about fluorescent lighting and catching my eye with the subject. The first study, albeit an association, is astonishing and makes sense from a circadian standpoint. The second paper by Samuel Milham is another fantastic, short read which covers the contradictory nature of the UV light-skin cancer narrative found in centralized circles today. Go deep enough, and you find contradictions that cannot be ignored: 1. Indoor workers have higher incidence and mortality rates of cutaneous malignant melanoma than outdoor workers. 2. Cutaneous malignant melanoma often occurs in areas of the body which are never exposed to full spectrum sunlight. 3. Melanoma patients are notorious for being chronically deficient in Vitamin D3, which can only effectively be acquired from getting UV-B exposure via sunbathing. 4. Cutaneous malignant melanoma incidence is increasing in spite of use of UV blocking agents and small changes in solar radiation. The sunglasses, sunscreen, sun-avoidance, people have been successfully programmed to religiously follow centralized dermatology recommendations. 5. Artificial light, especially at night, has been proven to CAUSE many different types of cancers, including skin cancer. 6. Red light, which is found in 42-45% of the sun’s full spectrum, is protective against melanoma. I can go on for days. The point is that fluorescents are horrible for your health, and must be removed from your life. If you work inside an office, you need to find a solution. Educate your company on the harms of this type of lighting and how it hits the bottom line. Keep these lights off and figure out a different lighting system. Take outdoor breaks. Be proactive.
