The testing of the Mobile App AI Cattle Weight Estimation system was conducted at Pusat Ternakan Haiwan Jelai Gemas, a facility under the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) Malaysia. During the trial, the app's results were cross-checked with traditional weight scales, revealing an impressive accuracy rate of 96–97%. The weight scale method, although reliable, was found to be bulky, labor-intensive, and time-consuming, highlighting the superior convenience and efficiency of the mobile app. The app eliminates the need for extensive manpower and infrastructure, providing farmers with a user-friendly and portable solution. DVS Research team was highly impressed with the app’s performance, especially its potential to streamline cattle weight estimation processes. As a result, they granted access to test the app on all their herds, comprising thousands of cattle across multiple sites in Malaysia. This collaboration offers immense benefits, such as validating the app on a larger scale, building trust in its capability, and generating robust data to further optimize its functionality. For DVS, the solution provides a cost-effective and scalable alternative to traditional methods, empowering their operations with accurate, real-time data. On a national level, this initiative enhances cattle farming productivity, reduces operational inefficiencies, and supports Malaysia’s goals for sustainable agriculture and food security. “We have proven the effectiveness of our Mobile App AI Cattle Weight Estimation system with an accuracy of 96–97%, and with further data collection, we aim to improve this to 98–99%.
