An upcoming project, Penang Silicon Island, will soon be launched, featuring IC design facilities to drive innovation and strengthen the semiconductor value chain. This project reflects Malaysia’s commitment to advancing its technological capabilities. Discussions addressed the impact of AI on jobs, noting that while AI may surpass average human intelligence within five years, IT and related roles will remain essential as humans continue to shape and manage AI development. Educational models were also emphasized, particularly those integrating hands-on industrial training, entrepreneurship, and collaborative learning to prepare students for the industry's evolving demands. The forum stressed the importance of holistic growth over cost-cutting measures for IT industry advancement.
