✨ Lighting that reveals over a century of architectural history. The façade of the former Technical School is brought back to life with a new light, enhanced in detail and texture. Warm tones enhance the historic ambiance of the Art Nouveau district of Pyynikinrinne in Tampere, Finland. Originally designed in 1915 by architect Richard Björnberg and extended in the 1930s by Hjalmar Åberg in the neoclassical style, the building served educational purposes until 2003 and is recognized as a site of significant architectural and cultural value. 🌟Product used: Underscore InOut, Linealuce Mini 47. We’re excited to share highlights from “Light that Moves People,” an event by iGuzzini in collaboration with @colab.ae , @lovethatdesignme , and @isola.design . Held during @dubaidesignweek the event celebrated Sustainability, gathering the Design and Creative Community. The evening offered valuable networking opportunities, while iGuzzini’s Light Shed Linen and award-winning Libera luminaires, showcased for the first time in the Middle East, illuminated the space as symbols of sustainable innovation. A highlight of the event was the interactive “Join the Clan” quiz, where guests tested their knowledge of sustainability and design, competing for a chance to win the new Clan Mini lamp—a tribute to the iconic, futuristic style of the 1980s Clan collection. ✨ We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Lighting the Future contest, held on November 6th during Dubai Design Week! ✨ This competition, dedicated to Interior Design students from the @audubai, highlights creativity as a tool to foster urban development and cultural regeneration, using light as a medium for social innovation. Now in its third edition, this year’s theme was "Culture." Congratulations to @elana.aridi and Mariam Cader, the winners of this edition, for their outstanding concepts. Their design has been produced and showcased, alongside all participants’ projects, during Dubai Design Week at @colab.ae, on a glass Gobo for our iGuzzini fitting Palco InOut. The Vilagarcía Council selected the Liceo Casino as the site for a new city library, restored with financial support from the Pontevedra Provincial Council. Designed by Alberto Redondo of @rvr_arquitectos, the 1,300 m² space is characterized by natural light, acoustic comfort, and a serene, intimate atmosphere. ✨The lighting relies on a select range of luminaires: Isola, Easy, and Palco used in various configurations throughout the building. In the main reading room, Isola and Easy pendant lights, featuring UGR<19 optics, provide soft, shadow-free illumination. Palco spotlights deliver precise lighting to the children’s reading areas, while the Master Pro Evo KNX control system manages the lighting intelligently, enhancing energy efficiency. On 16 October 2024, @grimshawarch, Maynard, Equation and AtkinsRéalis's design for the Elizabeth Line was announced as the winner of the Stirling Prize 2024, the UK's most prestigious architectural award, given annually by the Royal Institute of British Architects (@ribalondon) to the most outstanding architectural work completed in the UK that year. iGuzzini is proud to have collaborated on one of the line's central stations, the Tottenaham Court Road, also providing a custom product. ✨In 2018, the Collège du Ban in Vagney (France) suffered a major structural crisis, leading to the need for a complete reconstruction. Studio Tectoniques, winner of the architectural competition to manage the project, teamed up with associate architects LSW and SQUAD, Perrin structures bois, Jean-Baptiste Lestra paysagiste and Egènie for environmental monitoring. The new building has become an example of energy efficiency and environmental awareness. Lighting is central to energy efficiency and well-being. The project utilises natural light through canopies and skylights, reducing the use of artificial energy. In the evening, Laser Blade luminaires with General Lighting and Wide Oval optics provide homogeneous light and optimal visual comfort. They adapt perfectly to different types of ceilings, maintaining a consistent appearance in all rooms. The @theowo.london in London, built on the site of the Palace of Whitehall—home to British monarchs like Henry VIII for centuries and famous for hosting Winston Churchill and inspiring Ian Fleming's creation of 007—has been transformed into an exclusive development, now home to the prestigious Raffles London at The OWO. @dpalighting consultants designed the lighting scheme for this historic Edwardian building. Our iPro spotlights with spot optics were selected for the façade lighting, enhancing its beauty with a precise interplay of light and shadow. The project highlights the unique architectural details of the façades, along with Alfred Drury's sculptures.
