There’s even a secret place behind the cedar screen for dumping all those bits and bobs we all have lying around our gardens. Being underneath this pergola feels so cosy. The warm tones from the wood and the dappled sunlight cutting through the timber slatted roof are all working so beautifully. It’s such a perfect spot to eat surrounded by raised beds and planting. As our days are getting shorter and nights seem so long and dark try and get outside. Do some gentle gardening. Tidy up, sweeping, weeding, mulching. Plants some bulbs. It’s not too late! You will always be so pleased you did!! I feel sad I am no longer on Instagram as often as I would like. Had a wonderful day yesterday in Kensington planting up a roof terrace for @singerdesignltd Sadly, I can’t share the images for this one but wanted to say a huge thank you the wonderful interior designer @singerdesignltd for getting me on board. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some before and after images. This is to share what We do but also to inspire you to consider your garden as carefully and thoughtfully as your house. This wonderful home in Dulwich didn’t have the best garden! It was entirely concrete paving so was in desperate need of some green and usable space for seating and dining. We tried to soften all the hard elements including the steps up to the lawn. Hope you like what we did! If you are planning house renovations getting in touch at the earliest stages in planning means that we can factor in the build costs so money can be set aside and the panicked 3 metres of paving outside you back door can be avoided. Gardens shouldn’t be an afterthought. Doing it properly can take more money than you would imagine. Would love to know what you think is a good budget for your garden. The peach garden. Beyond the pergola there is trampoline for the children. I spent a lot of time working out the biggest size we could fit in! 🤩 You have to look very closely to see it. There is a gap in the pergola where you can step down into the children’s play area but there is also the main path off to the left which creates a nice journey around the garden. Even in smaller gardens with careful planning there is more room than you would expect. We really do consider everything when we design gardens.
