Drinking from The “Briq” or “Ibrik” hits differently 🥹 “Brik” or “Ibrik” simply means pitcher or jug in Arabic. In Lebanon it’s a uniquely shaped glass water pitcher. The idea of the Ibrik is meant to be shared and passed along from one person to the next. When someone wants to drink they raise the pitcher over their head and the water pours out of the sprout into their mouth directly. Growing up, I remember being at my grandparents’ house (May their souls RIP) or when we visited in Summer the Ibrik is left out on the table and covered with a white crochet cover. I recall learning as children how to drink from it and often spilling the water all over myself! 😆 We would even compete with with our cousins who can drink from the Ibrik without touching the sprout or who can raise it the highest without spilling it all over themselves. So fun! Now, with that said let me know if you want the link for an Ibrik😜 Not exactly as one I have shown here, as this was a gift from my aunt long before I even started on the gram 🥰 Wishing you and yours a very blessed Sunday! : : : : : : : : #lebanese #lebaneseculture #lebanesecuisine #lebaneseandproud #lebaneseheritage #lebanoneats #lebanesetradition
When life gives you parsley make Tabbouleh 🥗 Where do I begin? It’s truly amazing how one dish can bring endless childhood memories. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Tabbouleh, it’s a very famous Lebanese salad that consists of parsley, scallions, fresh mint, tomatoes, fine bulgur and finished off with lots of lemon juice, pomegranate molasses and olive oil for the dressing. It’s such a staple in most Lebanese households especially part of Sunday lunch. It’s the salad that we took when we went for a picnic. The salad that was on the dining table before the cake when we celebrated a birthday. It’s the salad that we served all Summer long/BBQs. The salad that we took turns to make and enjoy at our neighbors home on a weekend day. I can go on and on🥹 I remember my mom would call my siblings and I, to come taste test the Tabbouleh to make sure that the balance of lemon, pomegranate molasses, olive oil and salt is perfect before she served it to us. She still does till this day when we are gathered. Alright, enough talking about this yumminess! Let’s get to the recipe! 😋 Ingredients: Serves 4-6 ppl (depending if they go for a second round, which they probably will😆) ▫️ 3 Bunches Parsley finely chopped ▫️ 3-4 Scallions, trimmed and finely chopped ▫️ Tomatoes finely diced (The more tomatoes the better-I used about 1 lb here) ▫️3 TBSPS Fine Bulgur ( Soaked in warm water or you can also reserve the juice from the tomatoes when diced and soak the bulgur in it) ▫️About 1/2 bunch of Fresh Mint, leaves stripped and finely chopped. ▫️Juice of two Lemons ▫️1-2 TBSPS Pomegranate Molasses ▫️Salt to taste ▫️Cumin to taste- about 1/2 TSP (Optional) ▫️1/3 cup Olive Oil ▫️Romaine hearts or cabbage leaves ( We prefer lettuce but delicious with cabbage as well) For Parsley: ▫️Pick through the bunches of parsley and remove any spoiled stalks. Wash thoroughly under cold water. Tie the bunches of stalks as you would a bouquet of flowers and leave them to dry in a colander before chopping. Any questions 👇🏻 P.S. Tabbouleh even tastes better the next day. Can be reserved in the fridge for upto 3 days. Serve right away or chilled.
Lahm Bi Ajeen Bites-Lebanese Meat Pies 😋 “Lahm bi Ajeen” which translates as meat in dough in Arabic. It’s a very popular Lebanese recipe that I grew up eating and enjoying. It’s such a simple yet full of flavor recipe. It’s definitely one of those recipes that have a distinctive smell and you can smell from a mile away! There are several variations on how you can make this recipe, even in Lebanon it varies depending on the area or village. Today I’m sharing my mom’s recipe, the one that triggers so many childhood memories not just for myself but for many Lebanese 🥹 You know I’m all about the quick and easy recipes. Yes, I can make the dough from scratch as my mom served it to us back then but Naan it is. It tastes just as good! It can be enjoyed anytime in the day, try it out and thank me later! Ingredients: Will make about 50 mini Naans ▫️1 lb ground beef ( 90% lean) ▫️1 large onion ▫️2 medium tomatoes (Peeled) ▫️2 TBSP pomegranate molasses ▫️Salt to taste ▫️Black pepper to taste ▫️1/2 tsp 7-spices (optional) ▫️Pine nuts ( for garnish-optional) ▫️Parsley (chopped for garnish) ▫️Pomegranate seeds ( for garnish) ▫️Naan ( I used mini Naan dippers) Instructions: Using a blender, add onions, tomatoes and blend until they’re fully combined. In large bowl, add ground beef, onions and tomatoes mixture, salt, pepper, 7 spices and pomegranate molasses. Mix by hand until all ingredients are fully combined. Using choice of naan scope meat mixture into naan and bake at 375 until golden brown. If using naan bake for about 4-5 mins. Served with plain yogurt and lemon. Now follow along to see how I prepared these delicious Lahm Bi Ajeen Bites and happy to answer your questions in the comments section below 👇🏻 : : : : : : : : #lebaneseappetizer #lahmacun #lahmebeajine #meatpie #flatbread #naanbread #fingerfoodideas #lebanesefood #lebanesecuisine #lahmebajin

Lebanon: A blessed land that always rises from its ashes… 🙏🏻🇱🇧 I just want to take a moment and thank all those who asked and checked in! These past two weeks or so were devastating to say the least! 💔 I ask you to please take a moment and say a prayer for my Lebanese brothers and sisters who lost their lives and homes, not just in the last two weeks but for almost a year now…Say a prayer to the ones who are still fighting for their lives…Say a prayer to those who are displaced… Praying for this madness to end soon and for a better tomorrow 🤲🏻 PS: The amount of tears I shed putting this arrangement together! 😪
Cheese and Crackers “Pumpkin Pie” Bites 🧀 SAVE & SHARE 🤍 Okay, how cute did these come out? These Cheese & Crackers “Pumpkin Pie” Bites are the perfect and fun snack/appetizer to serve during all your Fall gatherings! Seen this idea on Pinterest last year and I couldn’t wait to try it out. I made it last Thanksgiving for the fam. and it was a hit to say the least! All you need is four ingredients to put this together! 👇🏻 What you will need: Should make about 14-15 bites. ▫️1 block(s) Cheddar Cheese (I used an 8 oz block) ▫️Triscuit Thin Crisps (Already shaped as a triangle) ▫️Chicken in a Biskit Crackers (You can use original or Ranch flavor- I used the ranch flavor) ▫️Whipped Cream Cheese For the “Whipped Cream” ▫️Pipping bag/Ziplock bag ▫️1” triangle cookie cutter (You can always align the Triscuit crackers on the cheese and cut using a knife. I find it easier to use a cookie cutter) Instructions: Cut the 8 oz block of cheddar cheese evenly in half, lengthwise (Use your choice of cheddar cheese: Medium, mild or sharp) Then using 1” triangle cookie cutter or knife. Cut cheese into triangles. Cut the Biskit crackers a bit-this step is optional. Add whipped cream cheese to pipping or ziplock bag. Now it’s time to assemble! Squirt a dot of cream cheese in the middle of the Triscuit thin crips (helps cheddar cheese stay in place. Add your cheese triangles on top, then squirt more cream cheese on the bottom of Biskit crackers to help “glue” and form side crust of the pie. Lastly, add your cream cheese on top of cheddar cheese and now you have a delicious cheese and crackers “Pumpkin Pie” Slice to enjoy at the beginning of your Harvest party 😉 ‼️Leftover cheese and crackers ( if you cut) are consumed of course ‼️ Absolutely nothing goes to waste over here!
