With the weather in Houston being more rainy and humid than ever, going to the gym 5 times a week and a couple of vacations coming up where we will be in bathing suits, I decided to work with God gave me. Being a relaxed girly all my life (since I was 5) it’s been so hard to accept my hair this way. I feel that’s why I’m so adamant about making sure the girls feel confident in who they are and how God created them. @stylesbydrik really formulated a goldmine when she created @drikanicoleorganics . These products have my hair so soft and the detangling process is so effortless! Where two or more are gathered, God will be present, and the building is just a formality. A little backstory for context:: When we first got married, Jahneiss worked shift work (Retail ASM) and I worked 7-4, M-F (receiving ASM). Every Sunday she couldn’t attend church with us (3 out of 4 a month) she would get London dressed and I would take her to church, then to spend time with grandparents (church with Jahneiss’s mom and visit my parents after). I would bring her home communion and send her the Bible versus and sermon notes for her to review when she got a break. There were days she cried at the thought of our home being separated on Sundays but i made sure to include her as much as i could. When her pregnancy with Autumn resulted in her loosing her job and abruptly becoming a SAHM (she went into preterm labor at 14 weeks and they let her go), the roles became reversed. I began doing shift work because i got promoted (now that i was the sole provider) and she resumed my role and took the girls to church every single Sunday. She would bring communion to me at work (along with lunch at times) and send me the sermon (sometimes would record it for me too). She even still took the girls to see my parents, which was truly the best part! Now, 12 years later, we worship together all because even when we were apart, God was that three strand cord in our marriage. Loosing you way in marriage is normal but won’t break you as long as you both focus on Him, even when you find it hard to focus on each other. What a perfect day for such a special lady bug! London wanted braids for her birthday and I couldn’t have thought of a better way to bond with her on this special day. I’m not great at braiding but I’ve learned so much and have come so far. She picked @funcityskate and it couldn’t have been more amazing. All you can eat pizza on Saturday from 6:30-9 and from 10-2, it’s 21 and up!! Daddy and I will definitely be back for date night!! Not him just letting me fuss but all along, he was doing what God was leading him, called him, to do lol! I remember the first time Jonathan made a mistake that created an unexpected expense for us. He was driving the forklift at work and his phone fell out of his pocket while it was in motion. He rolled right over it and called me in a panic. I am definitely a “fly of the handle” type, quick to forget that I mistakes just as others do and all the grace I have been given. But in that moment, I took that as a chance to grow in how I handled “life happenings” and remember that he is human and deserves room to make a human error. So, I went to Sprint, paid off that phone so that I could go ahead and upgrade him to the newest phone and surprised him with it at his job (the cost wasn’t significantly more and a replacement phone would have been a refurbished, so why not). He was so happy, just as happy as I was when he did the same for me months before when my phone was stolen as I was trying to care for our newborn on my first Mother’s Day out with my family. Moral to the story, everything isn’t worth an argument or judgment. Just find a solution and remain in unity so that you are ready for the next life happenings, because there’s always something lol!
