There wasn’t a dry eye in our family. What an emotional moment - @ellaryday_szyndlar got to pass down the title of Mini Best Dancer at the @thedanceawards to her sister @sylviewin . They both wanted this to happen so much. Sylvie Win worked tirelessly and Ellary Day did all she could (she can be a truly incredible dance teacher / coach!).It absolutely doesn’t feel real that this could happen. Thank you to all at @danceone . TDA is an epic and inspiring week. @jumpdance , @24sevendance , and @nuvodanceconvention provide Sylvie Win’s best types of weekends. Thank you to all who believe in Sylvie Win. She may be the youngest to receive this honor; that has been possible because of so many. For @ellaryday_szyndlar & @sylviewin the @thedanceawards is more than “The Olympics of Dance.” It has provided countless memories, chances they could only wish about, goals to conquer, and bonds that will endure (including their dance sister BFF bond). Ellary Day would add that TDA gave her a dream come true: the chance to be Mini Best Dancer. Our family has celebrated 6 years of TDAs. I say celebrated on purpose. These weeks mean so much to my girls and countless other dancers; the weeks are filled with memories they will never forget. Thank you to @danceone , @jumpdance , @nuvodanceconvention , @24sevendance, @michaelminery , @krisgorski327 , @dannydlawn , and @rtodorowski for all you do to make these opportunities possible. I hope each dancer knows how special he or she is: you will shine; your hard work is worth it; and these magical moments should be cherished- they go by so quickly. It has been another year of ballet growth & opportunities for @sylviewin 🩰 Sylvie Win stared in ballet. She went to a program that followed the Vaganova method. It was very strict. Some of her friends quit the first day. Others quit a couple months in. However, Sylvie Win loved it! She couldn’t wait to go. 😊 This year’s ballet highlights include: 💪 classes in her home schools of @masterballetacademy and @clubdanceofficial to work on her technique 🩰 her first @yagp , which she absolutely loved. She had seen her sister take that stage before and was thrilled she finally got a turn. @ellaryday_szyndlar and she did two duets and were so lucky to place 1st (and tie with some incredible dancers that they look up to!). She did not dance individually. 🩰 dancing in her 3rd Nutcracker. This year with @clubdanceofficial she got to be the Arabian lead. However, I think she was most proud of her older sister who got to dance Clara. The magic of the season always makes this ballet so special. 🩰 dancing her first variation on stage. She didn’t know if she wanted to compete a variation. She has danced many times on stage but wasn’t sure about doing a ballet solo. She quickly learned a variation in a little over a week, borrowed a costume from a friend and idol @averygayofficial and went for it. She said she cannot wait to learn more variations. 🩰being accepted at two incredible summer programs. For many of those dancers, it was their first time competing on pointe. And they got 1st ballet & 2nd line (which is so hard when you compete against jazz and contemporary). One dancer lost a toenail and danced through. To my Day: You always step up & can be counted on. Sometimes you have the less “fun” or showy pieces but you are always happy, work so hard, & see the value of everything. You let your dancing speak for itself. I think that will propel your high goals the most. To my Win: Some of your goals are to prove your versatility & that age almost means nothing. You did a few groups with teens & I think did great. You learned pointe in a few months & did sassy jazz & very mature contemporary.
