More data surrounding the potential effects of a commonly prescribed allergy and asthma medication called Singulair (montelukast) on the brain was discussed at an annual meeting for the American College of Toxicology recently. This medication already had a black box warning from the FDA since 2020 regarding an increased risk of developing Neuro psychiatric problems. The FDA sent me their data and it shows that there are potential off target effects of this medication on parts of the brain reaponsible for mood.
