Introducing the world's newest breed – the Rescuoodle (res-kyoo-dle) ❤️ At RSPCA NSW, we believe that rescue animals are in a breed of their own. So, we’ve decided to make it official. Introducing Rescuoodles, a campaign to inspire the world to open their hearts and homes to animals awaiting adoption 🙌 Cavoodles, schnoodles, and bernedoodles were all once unknown words. Now, these breeds are all the rage amongst pet owners. But as more people buy designer pets, they leave behind oodles of rescue animals patiently waiting for a home. With a 30% decline in adoptions seen across NSW the launch of Rescuoodles hopes to raise the profile of rescue animals, reduce the demand for unethical breeding and celebrate those who have already been adopted. A Rescuoodle can be fluffy, scruffy, spotty or striped, smooth as silk, mellow or hyped. But the one thing that binds them together like glue, is that all they need to be happy is you 🥰 To learn more about the Rescuoodle or meet the oodles of Rescuoodles waiting for adoption, visit our website via the link in our bio ☝️ #adoptdontshop #animalwelfare #rescuoodles #i❤️rescuoodles

So why choose to buy from a shop, when they best kinds are the ones you adopt 🥰 Adoption information is available via the link in our bio 👆 RON: R251000223 #adoptdontshop #foreverhomes #i❤️rescuoodles
WE NEED YOUR HELP ❤️ Due to capacity constraints, our Sydney Adoption Centre has placed a temporary hold on accepting any stray kittens, effective immediately. Since September, our shelters have been increasingly inundated with cats and kittens every single day. Our Sydney site has officially reached capacity and are calling on our animal-loving community to please help 🙏 If you find stray kittens, we can help support you to care for them at home until we have the capacity to accept them in our care. And here’s the best part — we’ll deliver everything you need straight to your door! 📦 What’s in the Kitten Care Package? • Litter Tray • Food • Litter • Bedding • Bowls • Toys 👀 Found Kittens? Here’s What to Do: • Check if the mother is nearby. Neonate kittens are totally dependent on their mother for survival. If their mother is not available, they require around the clock human care. • If their mother doesn’t return within 3-6 hours, call us on 9770 7555 (option 4) and we’ll help you get set up to care for them. This includes organising a care package to be sent directly to your address, as well as registering your details on our kitten waitlist. • A member of our team will be in touch as soon as we have capacity to the take the kittens into our care. With your compassion and our support, these kittens can grow strong, healthy, and ready for loving homes 💙💚
AN URGENT PLEA FOR CARERS ❤️ The holiday season is a time of joy and cheer, but for many animals, it's a time of uncertainty. With a recent influx of guinea pigs, puppies, cats and kittens, we are in desperate need of foster carers 🙏 Foster care is a vital lifeline and we provide everything you need. So if you can, please consider becoming a foster carer today. Contact your local shelter directly or visit our website via the link in our bio ☝️ #animalwelfare #fostercare #support
With Kitten Season seeing a huge increase in the numbers of cats and kittens that come through our doors, it is vital that we help them find their forever homes as soon as possible 🐈❤️ By increasing adoption numbers, we can better offset the impact these additional animals put on our shelters, staff and resources. If you were thinking of adopting or welcoming another four-legged friend into your home, now is the purrfect time to do so 😻 Adoption links can be found on our website via the link in our bio ☝️ RON: R251000223 #kittenseason #adoptdontshop #cats #kittens
Last week our Outreach Team was warmly welcomed into the community of Bidwill for the last Healthy Pet Day of 2024. With meaningful moments and familiar faces, it was an incredible way to see out the year 💙💚 Among the attendees were return clients like Milo, a cat whose life was saved by emergency surgery a few years ago. His owner still eternally grateful for saving her cat's life. We also welcomed many first-time pet owners, including a staffy puppy and their proud new family, who received invaluable guidance on puppy care and training from one of our behaviourists 🐕 The day's highlight was a senior dog whose distressed owner brought him in after noticing blood in his water bowl. Upon examination, a bone fragment lodged in the back of his mouth was located and safely removed. Bringing instant relief and reassurance to both the pup and his grateful owner. Throughout the day, 146 animals—102 dogs and 44 cats—received care, from vaccinations and microchipping to interest in desexing. When asked what their pets mean to them, the answer from attendees was overwhelmingly clear—EVERYTHING. A clear testament to the unbreakable bond between people and their animals, inspiring every service we provide 🙌 A huge thank you to the incredible Bidwill @unitingchurchau, @orchardhillsvethospital, @animalrescuecooperative, @zoetispetcare, @royalcaninanz, @vets_beyond_borders and @blacktowncitycouncil as well as everyone else who has supported us throughout the year. Together, we’ve made a difference in the lives of countless pets and their families. Here’s to an even brighter 2025, filled with more connections, care, and compassion ❤️ #healthypetday #animalwelfare #communityoutreach #bidwill
This week will mark Mick’s 200th day in care 💔 When he first arrived, it was obvious he had not had an easy life. His quivering lip immediately telling a story of struggle and survival. His big brown eyes creating a window into his past, painting a picture of a scared little pup longing for a fresh start. But as the hours rolled by and the days turned to weeks, Mick’s true nature slowly revealed itself. He started to trust those around him and proved that behind his shy demeanour was a kind, gentle and affectionate soul 😌 Despite trying his best to be noticed, when the time comes it is all too overwhelming. He is often found hiding away where he feels safe. But with tail wagging, his eyes continue to follow each and every passer-by. Unfortunately, he is only brave enough to venture out long after they have moved on 😞 Because of this, he is often overlooked or missed completely. He has received very little interest in adoption saddest of all—is starting to struggle. Mick needs your help now, more than ever. It’s clear that, in the right home, he’ll shine as the devoted friend everyone dreams of. He just needs a second chance ❤️ Adoption information can be found via the link in our bio ☝️ RON: R251000223 #adoptdontshop #secondchance #mick
Did you know that social and environmental learning is crucial for kitten development? 🤔✨ It is important to note that this guide is not intended to be a ‘checklist’ or ‘exposure challenge’ to complete. When any cats and/or kittens in your care display body language that indicates they are uncomfortable and wish to avoid a particular trigger (e.g. object, human, another animal) this must always be allowed and respected. It is of no benefit to expose any animal to something that makes them feel frightened or anxious if they are already feeling threatened or unsure. The memories they form will likely be negative ones, which can impact future learning. If any cats and/or kittens are showing signs of fear, anxiety, or stress then this must seek advice from a behaviour consultant/vet. Some examples of signs of fear may include hiding, loss of appetite, repetitive behaviours like constant grooming and increased vocalisations such as growling or meowing. Social and environmental learning is one of the most important gifts you can give your kitten. It sets the foundation for a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted adult cat. By making it a fun and positive experience, you ensure that your furry friend grows up to be a safe, happy, and healthy cat.
