Working in North Carolina with Operation Air Drop, PJ Helicopters and Quanta Aviation Services transported water, food, camping supplies, pet food, hay for livestock, and medical supplies to victims of Hurricane Helene. In addition pilots performed welfare checks, aided in search and rescue activities, and performed recon work as requested. About 35 hours were flown total. The grassroots volunteers and donations, as well as experienced organizers and coordinators, were able to get help to people who needed it most almost immediately after the event, providing a crucial lifeline to people in need. When wildfires hit Fort Nelson, BC, Allteck faced a big challenge— there was no way to get equipment to the site and due to fires in the surrounding area, it was impossible to get a heavy lift helicopter from anywhere in Canada. Enter Quanta Aviation, the team mobilized one of PJ Helicopters’ Chinooks which lifted a 15,000-pound excavator onto the site.
