Short for “girl up” and “always forward-moving”, White explains that GalUp was born out of a unique journey shared by two women who married the same man at different points in their lives. “We are not a club for women to bash their spouses, exes, or partners. Instead, we are strong supporters of people in healthy relationships and solution finders for those who aren’t but are willing to change,” she says. In August, GalUp will launch a membership programme for women of all backgrounds seeking personal growth through curated events. White adds that they are targeting C-suite executives with the financial resources to pay it forward to women who cannot afford the fees. “They can support GalUp in various ways: donate memberships, sponsor event tickets, or lend clothing and accessories for GalUP events. Corporate sponsorships are also welcome for fundraising events.” There will be three events to help women from all walks of life connect, grow, and achieve their goals. “GalUp’s signature dinners celebrate you. Be present, connect with like-minded women, and focus on yourself. The 36o Forums are interactive, providing information and tools from professionals for everyday life and the future. Lastly, TIFI (Trash It or **** It) is a hybrid platform for meetups that allow women to vent and not feel alone or judged.” It is White’s wish that members will find strength and resilience, even in matters of the heart, without losing hope or becoming jaded. She and her team serve as “soul weavers”, bringing together diverse wisdom, experience, and support to facilitate a cohesive healing journey. “We will connect you with the right professionals who can help you with your predicament. Our main role is to listen, provide a safe, confidential space when you need support, and share our personal experiences so you won’t feel alone or silly.” #galupsg #galup #getupdressupshowup
