Still buzzing with joy and awe from my debut at the @gaiamusiccollective Earth Day house show last night. ✨ It’s not every day that you get to workshop a new song with a room full of unbelievably talented strangers and a band that can literally make a song with you on the spot. So much gratitude to @heartofgoldstein for birthing and stewarding this incredible movement of communal singing. These medicine songs have been coming to me and I am listening because our generation needs more anthems to carry us through the difficult road ahead. Expect to see much more art from me this year — after 3 years of being heads down building @inheritanceproject it is a joy to get to return to all the other dreams I put on hold while we created a method and process I am proud to teach. ✨RESONANCE: RENEWAL RECAP✨ Wow, that was epic. Last week we gathered for our March Resonance and celebrated the equinox and energy of renewal in our lives. We witnessed epic nose-jousting led by @nasimehbe, released stale energy with @breath_connection, filled our hearts with @iamsharissefrancisco sound and cacao offering, made music as a group guided by @danisundream, danced to two epic sets by @katyastepanov and @nicjames_ofc and received a sound bath and offrenda with @iamthelightarts 🌸 At a time when peace is a privilege, we are so grateful to gather in an alcohol-free space where we can truly disconnect to reconnect with ourselves and the ancient technologies that create connection - breath, cacao, movement, ritual, sound and deep conversation. I always imagine that one day a child in a vintage shop selling pre-apocalyptic wares will find my journal and teach themselves how to read in cursive again to decipher my confessions from the page. The sun might no longer exist, there may not even be gravity any longer — hell, it could be an "Earthware Store" on Mars, but somehow my journal would survive and she'd be deep in it, resonating across time with my soul. The past few years have been especially rough in my communities of Ukrainian/Post-Soviet Jewish refugees, as we’ve been desperately trying to get people to stop living life as usual and pay attention for years now. I understand it hits different when it’s people you know… my heart goes out to every single person who experienced unimaginable loss this year. Tragedy has been affecting people I know for years now. Just when I’m not sure my heart can’t stretch any wider — it does. Ultimately, I’m glad everyone is waking up. It’s time. A new future is possible. The winds of change are blowing hard in NYC today. I am from the future where we have returned to 13 month cycles with 28 days in each, following the moon cycle and the natural cycle of our Mother Earth. My word for this new calendar year is “glimmer”. After 30+ years of focusing on working through my triggers, I’m ready for a new focus and path — fully feeling joy.
