Ahead of the Gadhimai festival in Nepal, the largest mass animal sacrifice in the world, @hsi_india and @pfa.ukd worked tirelessly to rescue more than 750 animals who were illegally transported. 🚫 Our team supported border police to save buffalos, goats, pigeons and more from being brutally beheaded. The pigeons were released back into the wild, the baby goats are receiving urgent care, and the buffalos and chickens will be transported to a sanctuary. Together with border forces, partner groups and spiritual leaders, we’re working to end this cruel tradition and protect animals from unnecessary suffering. We can—and will—make a difference! 💪

From the brink of sacrifice to the safety of sanctuary. 💔➡️💖 Ahead of the Gadhimai festival, we teamed up with @pfa.official , Sashastra Seema Bal, Bihar police, and other partner organizations to assist them in preventing illegal transport of animals. Our collective efforts saved over 750 precious lives, including buffaloes, goats, and pigeons, from the bloodshed. Newborn and infant goats rescued from Gadhimai will receive lifelong care and love at Happy Home Sanctuary, run by our partners @pfa.ukd. The buffaloes and other goats are on their way to finding safe, permanent homes, while the pigeons have been released back into the wild, where they belong. Every life saved is a victory against cruelty! We fought hard in the last two weeks to save as many animals as possible! We could not have done it without you. 📢  UPDATE from our border work! Since 28th November, along with our partner organization @pfa.official and with the collaboration of Bihar police and Sashastra Seema Bal, we’ve succeeded in saving hundreds of animals. We know we will not be able to save all but are determined to save as many as possible. There is so much that needs to be done to end this practice once and for all.
