Well, this year, this space is so stuffed with furniture that there was no room for a tree.š So, hereās a look back on what the living room looked like last year!
$1 Christmas tree decor! I used one thrifted book and Iām calling this tree doneš Details are āØON THE BLOGāØ
This arch sells out quickly, and I can see why! Thisāll be fun to decorate for years to come! Linked it along with the wreath and gift boxes), hereā”ļøhttps://liketk.it/4XwYz
It needs a good dusting, but I found this gorgeous birdcage at an estate sale and the possibilities are endless with what to fill it with! I figured for now, ornaments were a good choiceš
New art in the living room! Kind of an ode to the gallery wall in the office- I have a thing for clouds :) Swipe for lights off! Linked it, hereā”ļøhttps://liketk.it/4XIrB
Thank you all so much for giving this DIY bow some love!š I wanted to address one message I received. Seems silly to focus on this one, since there were SO many kind ones, but I think itās important, as a ācontentā creator, to make sense of it. It read: āWow..I was expecting wayyyy moreā¦.. :/ Previous ones were Dramatic, Bold & insanely Beautiful. Loved!!! Still a fanatic though :)ā So, hereās the thing. If anyone knows that this mantel doesnāt live up to years past, itās me. I recognize I definitely donāt need to explain myself. I could stick stockings up there and call it a day if thatās what I wanted to do. But as a content creator, itās my job to come up with new, creative things each year. Thereās two things you need to consider if youāre going to judge someoneās work in this space⦠Number one, if every year I had to top the last, a few years from now I would have a forest in my family room and garland hanging from the ceiling. Itās not realistic to keep ātoppingā yourself. Number two- maybe, just maybe, consider thereās a reason someone didnāt do āwayyyyyā more? We now have two kidsā college tuition to think about. This year, I had to be a little more frugal. So I bought inexpensive fabric for the bow, and the rest are things I already owned. Iām aware that sharing things publicly online means Iām opening myself up to criticism. To be clear, this isnāt me complaining! I actually get such a kick out of someone disagreeing with an artistic choice that Iāve made in my home! Usually when I ask for opinions, I tend to do the opposite of the majority.š But I know around the holidays thereās so much pressure to go above and beyond and be as creative as possible. And this is just a friendly reminder that money doesnāt grow on trees, and simple can be beautiful.ā¤ļø
Ok, porch is done! Started this a week or two ago and finished, today! What do you think? Do you like the traditional red, or do you prefer the brown of last year? I was inspired to go red as soon as I found this new wreath from @mcgeeandco. (Gifted) Linked it (along with the tree arch and gift boxes), hereā”ļøhttps://liketk.it/4XwYz
Throwback to hosting Thanksgiving last year! Spending time with family is my greatest joy! And make things beautiful for them goes right along with that. The flowers from @fleurdetroit made everything extra special! My biggest tip for hosting large dinner parties is⦠renting chairs! š Itās not as expensive as youād think, and looks way more put together than a bunch of mismatched folding chairs. š¦ Iām linking the plates and napkins I used, along with the alphabet cookie cutters I used to cut āthankfulā for the cheeseboard!ā”ļø https://liketk.it/4XsTR

Iāve never claimed to be a minimalist, but what are we thinking, here? Have I officially overstuffed this room?š This space is so special, that anytime something new comes home with me, I gravitate towards putting it in here! But I mayyyy have overdone it. Do you spot two new things to the space? I actually ordered the @mcgeeandco Alameda stool thinking it would be great next to our clawfoot tub, but⦠maybe in here? The silhouette is so good, and itās comfy! And the dress form in the corner? Thrifted it for $50! Iāve always wanted one, and I love how this one was constructed! The color reads well with the chairs too.š Thereās something else new over the sofa, but Iāll save that for another dayš Linking what I can, hereā”ļøhttps://liketk.it/4XkUq
