3D Paper Stars Garland ⭐ We made this beautifully decorated paper garland to hang on our banister for Christmas last year which I have only recently unpacked and need to get back up! Taking inspiration from snowflakes and gingerbread houses we used Kraft paper to make these 3D Paper stars. We cut out our star shapes, decorated using a range of paint, metallic and chalk pens (the red and green work so well in the garland!) Early Years Abacus - Decorating the tree with baubles 1-10 For those of you who have followed me for a long time you'll recognise this piece! One of my personal favourites which always brings back so many lovely memories ❤️ I had made this abacus to support my son's counting at the time! It has also withstood the test of time (perhaps because it's only taken out once a year!) 🤣 I used beads to first measure out how tall my tree should be, outlined a tree shaped triangle to then paint in then measured my holes for the twine to work through down the side. Paper Doily Baubles 🎄 It's Christmas time which means the doilies are out! These are lovely and quick to make! I ran out of my small doilies so had to go big and I actually love it 🤣 If you want to try making this festive craft: - You'll need 16 paper doilies - Fold each in half - use glue or double sided glue tape (used in my reel) to glue down the middle of one side - open your doilie then glue one third down and two thirds down as shown - you then layer each doily following these two steps - add your hanging your material of choice to hang them (I used twine!) - close your bauble and you're good to go! Decorate your home, window or make a teeny one as a gift tag (or perhaps leave one half open to place on a Christmas card!) Wool Wrapped Trees decorated with nature's glitter - little star leaves! ⭐🎄 I couldn't let Christmas go by without sharing a 'string' activity! I absolutely love this oatmeal yarn and have it in a range of lovely colours I'll have shared to grid over the year! I now remember I wanted to use my green to replicate this one but alas, time for away from me again this year! Wrap your tree cardboard cut out and you can leave as it is or decorate it like i have! Snow dipped Ornaments🌟 We have been using these to hang our cards in the kitchen at Christmas time for a few years now! You can also hang them on your tree of course if you like! Tip - Use the edges of your ornaments to guide the line of your doily, cut out and stick on! Outline your ornament with a white paint pen (like we did in my last post) or leave them as they are (shown here)! 🎄 I haven't gone foraging yet to gather some pine & cones for all my Christmas crafts.. Adding pine to this might be lovely! We now use them as part of our Christmas card garland in our kitchen! What you see is what you get! Handmade Christmas Gift Tags 🎄 Using your favourite Christmas mould you can make your very own DIY gift tags, labels or garland pieces using just toilet paper and some water! How to: 🎄Take a few sheets of toilet paper and soak in water 🎄Blitz using a blender 🎄Drain excess water 🎄Add the pulp to your mould 🎄Absorb excess water using a dish cloth 🎄Lift gently from your mould 🎄Allow to dry for about a day 🎄Trim off any excess paper And there you have it! Christmas Tree Leaf Garland 🎄 Natural Wax Decorations using our November Box from @mudnbloom brandrepad I was so excited to find wax amongst the kit this month to get making some wax dipped leaves! After gathering a beautiful collection of colourful leaves after school with the kids we used our beeswax to dip our tree cut leaves in and have used them to make a garland to hang our cards from! Paper Wreaths 🎄🌿 Last Christmas I had the honour of hosting a live Christmas Craft workshop and this was one of our simple Christmas origami makes! My daughter got the hang of these quicker than I did 🤣 Tip - it's easier to work with thinner paper! To make ✂️ ⭐ You will need 8 pieces of paper measuring 4cm x 8 cm ⭐ Fold the ends up as shown and then fold in half ⭐ Piece each 'boot' together working your way round ⭐ You can then leave as they are or insert small pieces of dried flowers and leaves into the folds 🌿 ⭐ Add some twine to hang and you're all done!
