Some cuts used on hardwoods. The first is classic horizontal bore cuts with the back strap cut an inch low to keep from taking saw with it. Best overall for preventing chair. The second is block face to keep side leaner moving ahead without breaking off to side lean. Sizwell is better for this and will be in part two. Last is multiple vertical bore cuts which is easier in awkward positions and good for skinny trees where there’s not enough room for horizontal bore. Cutting both sides is good for skinny trees as well
