100% The market opportunity is way too big and we are way too early to be settling for more of the same. But some of the things we want to see in the crypto space just don’t exist. So we are taking it upon ourselves to make it exist. It’s our risky next play over at @MantaNetwork. We don’t know if everything we build and launch from here will be successful, but we are going to try. I do hope and will try our best to see these launches become successful, not just for Manta, but to prove that web3 services can be built with an entirely different vision, incentive structure, and growth mechanisms from what we see today. Looking forward to introducing these products and services to the world!

There’s a secret word that flashes for a half a millisecond, you gotta pause at just the right spot. Screenshot it if you can find it.

Be extremely careful. If you don’t pay attention you would go through this whole process and never even noticed. I suspect this might be at the center of some of the recent DeFi hacks. https://t.co/V0tq5qaNRB

🚨 Just got targeted by Lazarus. A known contact on TG reached out to me to ask for a chat. Scheduled a Zoom call. When I got on the Zoom, it asked me for camera access which I found a bit odd because I have used Zoom many times. Even crazier, the team members had their cameras on. I could see their legit faces. Everything looked very real. But I couldn’t hear them. It said my Zoom needs an update. But it asked me to download a script file. I immediately left. Messaged the guy on Telegram and told him to call me on TG to verify him. He then proceeded to erase all the messages and block me.

Some folks got offended that I said Polkadot died. If you love Polkadot so much you should work to make it better. I look forward to seeing it thrive someday, and I hope it does. But let's not ignore the facts. Ethereum has 6.6m monthly active. Solana has 75m monthly active. addresses. Polkadot has 60k monthly active addresses. That's 1% of the active addresses that Ethereum has (data all from @tokenterminal). Sure, the argument is clear that most of the activity on other L1s are probably botted. But then the question is, why is no one botting Polkadot? Or even worse, if bots are on Polkadot as well, how many real users are there really? I understand that you like Polkadot. I have many friends in the Polkadot ecosystem, and I wish they succeed. But in order to succeed you have to recognize what's not working and improve on that, rather than ignoring the issues and pretending like everything is fine. That's a lesson we hold strong at Manta. We didn't ignore the fact that Polkadot was dying, and in order to grow Manta we needed to adapt. We later launched the L2 on Ethereum, and that transformed our fate. Now, we recognize as well that simply maintaining status as a Layer 2 is not enough. That's why we're expanding into other segments and doubling down on new user acquisition strategies. People can mock this as a desperate attempt to stay trendy. But at the end of the day, do you want to continue fighting this commoditizing ocean of L2s and ignoring the fact that consolidation is the most likely outcome, or do you want to push the project in a more promising direction? Look at all the bitcoin forks that were going to destroy Bitcoin. Look at all the Ethereum forks that were going to destroy Ethereum. Where are they now? If history has taught us anything, as I'm staring at an ocean of L2s, I'm sure we'll be asking the same question. It's time to evolve Manta. We recognize that. Maybe Polkadot can evolve, too.

Thoughts on my recent viral tweet: 1. Some people said one "r" saved me. "Saved" is not the word I'd use. If this is what saving is supposed to be, just leave me here to die next time. ☠️ 2. Some people thought I was poking fun at Mantra. My original tweet was in response to DMs, because I have no idea what happened to Mantra either and I don't have any answers for you. Still getting DMs about it. At this point, I'm practically waiting for Bloomberg to DM me for a statement. 3. Some people thanked me for clarifying because they were confused. So I guess the silver lining is that the tweet did accomplish what I originally intended it to. 4. People still think I'm associated with Soon. I'm not, but I hope Soon does well, because if it doesn't I'm sure I'll start getting DMs again for something I don't have involvement in. 5. People are complaining about $MANTA. Yea, I know. I wake up every day, see the price, see the comments, and channel all my internal willpower to focus on building a better future for Manta. It's the same story for many founders in this market. I'm confident that Manta will be strong again, not everyone sees it and I think we can do a better job of communicating our efforts (we got a town hall coming up next week, I'd encourage you to join it!). 6. Some people are wondering what the next steps are for Manta. We've been building for 5 years nonstop, and we've experienced stuff like this before. There's lots brewing, and more to come. Again, townhall next week, join it!
