I made it back home after a great week at the embedded world Exhibition&Conference on Nuremberg. It felt great catching up with old friends, ex colleagues, and like-minded IoT geeks. Overall, here is what stood out to me: 🧠 Edge AI is the next big thing and everyone seems to feel they must have an Edge AI story. 🖼 There was not as much genAI as I expected to see (in a good way), unless you consider LVM (Large Visual Models) to be genAI, in which case it was pretty much everywhere. 📡 Connectivity is now considered a commodity and expected to be seamless, including roaming between types of radios and networks 🦾 Robot arms are still my favorite IRL demos and are more and more paired with LVMs 🚀 Qualcomm and Edge Impulse announced that EI accepted to be acquired by Qualcomm which drove lots of conversations.
