I’ve been wanting to do a series about the culture shocks we faced when we moved out of the biggest city in the US to a very small city in Northern California. While Sacramento is pretty diverse, the greater Sacramento area aren’t and you run into the most ignorant people in this country. #nyc #nuevayol #newyork #northencalifornia #sacramento

Reiterating for the newcomers. Hi, welcome! This is what I stand for. Some people see this as a personal attack. I just want to continuously share my standpoint. If you can’t relate, that’s okay. We have different perspectives. Live your dream! #financialfreedom #firemovement #debtfree #freedom

1. I love rice but I rarely eat it. I started to prioritize proteins over carbs. 2. The more I travel, the more I realize I need less and less clothes, especially on beachy vacations. My body is my outfit, periodt. 3. I spent my youth hiding my body, had low self esteem. Now I stopped caring so I wear whatever I want. When I look back at old Monica, I thought she was crazy for wanting to constantly hide. Now I wish I had the body I had, a decade ago. 4. On our trip to Bora Bora, I brought my nicer clothes and skipped bringing my freedive fins. I thought I’d spend more time wearing polished and curated outfits—yet when I went on a boat excursion and dove with sharks, I wished I brought my freedive fins instead. So I think it’s tried and true, I’ll always be whom I always have been. 5. Moving to California made me a different person. The summers are long and dry. I didn’t think I needed precipitation for my mental health. The summers here depress me. 6. Being a teen Mom, I didn’t get to party through college, I never experienced being pissed drunk. I’m pretty open to everything and I thought I was missing out for not drinking. Turns out, it’s just not my thing. I fell asleep on my friends wedding bc I drank too much. Never again. 7. I have ocd and germaphobe tendencies. Living in a dirty home stresses me yet cleaning it stresses me out. Sometimes I look forward to downsizing so I don’t have to worry about cleaning an entire house. #adventure #travel #momswhotravel

Packing, unpacking, adjusting to different time zones, long plane rides, wanting to see everything all at once, trying out new activities—it will eventually burn you out. But there was a time that this is ALL I ever wanted. My advice to the youth is to travel young. Don’t let kids stop you from traveling, take them with you! My son has been jet setting since he was 3 mos old, he flies at least 4-5 times a year. He’s so used to plane rides and can easily transition to different time zones. He loves the beach, the hotel experience. He’s down for whatever! Relishing this opportunity before he’s school aged. #travel #travelwithkids #hawaii #hiking

But its meant to be temporary and we’re not killing ourselves forever. During peak Covid, Jason & I paid off $128k worth of debt. We did it in less than a year. My mindset was just to grind, I worked until I was 38 weeks pregnant. The lockdown altered our brain chemistry fr. I loved being a nurse during this time, it kept me sane during this difficult time, in all honestly. Fast forward to now, my husband works 20 hours/week, now I work 0-16 hours/week. We’re in our relaxed, travel and adventure with our kids era all because we sacrificed a portion of our life to the hustle. It’s something we’ll NEVER do again, especially now that we have our son. When I’m just spending time with my family-free from financial worry, I pat myself on the back and say, girl you did that. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do. Don’t let others dictate how you want to live your temporary life. #financialfreedom #debtfree #firemovement #HENRY

See I’m the typa Mama that you can joke with “F them kids” but at the same time tell you my life is not miserable with them. I read comments on a daily “don’t get married and have kids, my life is ruined because of it” —-sorry I can’t relate #momlife #momoftwo #parentlife #momsofinstagram
