October 17th, 2000 is when the ISS website is believed to have launched. Here’s a look back on what an early landing page and product pages looked like. There were tech specs and links to other Enthusiast sites such as Kicksology and Air-Jordans. The Forum had a humble beginning, but would take off as the site grew. “Cool Grey” hit different when it first dropped in ‘01 on the 11. It was the first time Jordan Brand had come up with a new colorway that was widely coveted. Then MJ happened to play in them well after they released, which added to their legacy. It was soon afterwards in ‘02 that the IX’s dropped, which he also played in. Is “Cool Grey” a thing for you? The 1994 Air Trainer Huarache featured a system of Velcro straps that locked down the foot in harmony with the neoprene Huarache-Fit™️ system. Forefoot and heel A I R units in a phylon midsole helped reduce weight. There’s zero doubt that Nike had the Velcro supply scarce in the 90’s considering. The two heel straps on the lateral and medial sides can also be found on a similar era model in the tennis Supreme Court Collection, the Air Supreme Focus. The innovation and creativity of design, function, and problem solving in this era of Nike is and remains unrivaled. Feels like a lifetime ago now, but these dropped in 2006/‘07 too. These were the first time the Grape and Fire Red had been brought back, and the first time they put a “23” on the Black Metallic publicly (originally only MJ PE). These 1991 Infrared Jordan 6s ❤️ had been shelved for years, but the wait is finally over… The process? First, I disassembled the donor pair provided by @sneakerpreservationsociety. Then, I carefully removed the retro paint, repainted the midsoles to match the original 1991 Infrared tones, and finally glued everything back together for a perfect fit.
