Buxus balls in a formal garden, and a great example of using balls on corners in combination with hedging. Edged with black mondo grass, around a beautiful jar and water feature. In Tania & Muzz the builder's beautiful courtyard garden @tania_loweandcorealty #notpaidtopost #supportcustomersandcommunity 🥰

New build, used to be a grassy slope 😱 Great news ~ our customer’s garden (and house 😎) has SOLD! I hope the new owners enjoy it as much as Naomi & Mike 🥰 This is the potager terrace ~ with raised vege gardens and an outdoor dining & living area under a rose arbour ~ Pierre de Ronsard with potted lemon trees. That’s a fig espalier against the back wall. Design by us. Garden approx 5 years old. So much to enjoy.

New batch of Westringia Aussie Box balls now available. Great for dry, windy and coastal gardens. Aussie Box is a smaller growing moundy cultivar up to around 1m round, with dainty pale lavender flowers and ferny silver foliage. I like mixing them with other balls with contrasting leaf colours like fresh green Pittosporum Golfballs, and dark green & white flowering hawthorns. More info & orders ~ please follow the link in our bio.

The magical peacock garden at Great Dixter ~ with 18 giant & whimsical bird topiaries set in amongst a mixed cacophony of seasonal flowers. Great Dixter is a centre for horticultural design & learning, with sustainability & biodiversity at its heart. So a lot of thought & experimentation goes into creating dense and layered continuous succession planting and its sensitive organic management as a home for our enjoyment + as a home for thousands of organisms. Fergus Garrett tells the story of how this was happening under his nose. He made the great hall facilities available to a spider scientist conference and lost them at morning tea. They’d popped out into the garden to check out the compost bin, as you do if you are an arachnologist, the rest of us tend to congregate around the water cooler! And low, they found one of the Uks rarest spiders in residence. Then some. It was a transformative experience for all involved and pivoted the focus of Great Dixter. To be encouraged, but a bit of a professional hazard for the rest of us. I still jump & eek with fright! @greatdixterofficial 📷 Ed Flint @rotheramblings who must live nearby, I think, and visits frequently 🙏🏼

An amble around Irene Molodstov's charming garden in the Cotswolds. Featuring beautiful Hydrangea paniculata with long arching stems of white conehead flowers fading to green in the shade, large buxus balls – a bit like enveloping cushons around the outdoor living area, and large leaved climbing Botson ivy scrambling over her beautiful stone & slate house. 🎥 @irenemylife

Such a beautiful green & white garden, shimmering with lightness 💫 Feat climbing white roses, round allium seed heads, and wild white flowers (so many to choose from!) plus Buxus balls for evergreen structure and a beautiful garden seat to sit and enjoy this joyful courtyard garden. I really like the full length picture window which lets in the light & connects you to the garden. Batcombe Garden & home of designer & director Libby Russell @mazzullorussell 📷 @eva_nemeth

A scandi garden full of ideas ~ leafy trees, sunshades, a black pergola, white stone pathways with paver detailing, lawn, outdoor living & dining, outdoor rooms, hydrangeas and grasses. So much to enjoy in your garden outdoors. Thank you Sebastian 🎥 @my.garden.life.and.home

My vege garden ~ broadbeans for Xmas! My kids used to love peeling, dipping & eating globe artichoke petals, and nowadays I grow them for their Dr Zeuss like qualities. Plus a few pretty pots of mixed herbs & flowers ~ the deep red leaves are mustard, and a welcome spicy addition to salads. Stock & dianthus flowers are edible.

Postcard from Melbourne. It’s a lovely time of year when customers send me progress pics of their gardens. This one’s from Pene, who I’ve been helping with her country garden in the outskirts of Melbourne. “Rach - I thought you might like to see some photos one year after planting the perennials and grasses. We are getting there and getting so much joy from the process.” So great to hear! I absolutely *love* helping people, and connecting customers with their gardens in a way which they will enjoy. And I hate to tell you, but a gardener’s job is never done ~ so please enjoy the ride!!!
