The sun hung low over Phang Nga, spilling molten gold across the horizon, turning the sea into a shimmering sheet of fire. Warm, honeyed light poured through the open space where I stood, hands poised over the mixer, my red curls catching the glow like embers in the wind. For a moment, it was as if the music and the light had fused, the rhythm pulsing in sync with the sun’s slow descent. This was my first time playing in front of people. A real audience. I had imagined this moment so many times—how it would feel, how the crowd would react. But now, in the glow of twilight, surrounded by strangers who swayed to the beat, I realized something: they liked it. And maybe, just maybe, I did too. I had always thought of music as something private, something intimate. But here, in this perfect place, I understood—music belongs to the world, to the open sky, to moments like this. Perhaps it’s time to step out from the shadows, to play more, to feel the pulse of the crowd and the places that shape the sound. The world is full of places where light and rhythm collide.
