Melasma can be stubborn and many patients undergo numerous rounds of laser treatment without seeing significant results. The usual approach is to use traditional Q switch or pico Lasers to slowly remove the pigment, which takes 6-9 months and risks Melasma flare up 😅 MOXI Laser is a 1927 nm fractional non ablative laser that targets the water in the superficial skin. MOXI Laser works by encouraging epidermal and dermal exfoliation of pigment (ie- rapid skin turnover with new skin production, shedding pigment in the old skin) and stabilising the basement membrane at dermal-epidermal junction (“leaky” basement membrane allows for pigment to transfer from melanocytes in the dermis to skin cells in the epidermis). Apart from treating Melasma, MOXI Laser is effective for the treatment of sun damage, fine lines, pores and acne scars

✨1927 nm wavelength treats all skin types (including darker skin)✨

MOXI Laser’s 1927 nm wavelength targets water in the skin (instead of pigment), making it effectively “colour blind”, which allows it to be used on all skin types, including darker skin types that are more prone to melasma flares and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. MOXI Laser can also be used after recent sun exposure, which is uncommon for other laser treatments that cannot be undergone right after a sun tan.

🔥Lower risk of melasma flare-ups🔥

The penetration depth of the MOXI Laser, at 100-200 microns, targets the epidermis layer, which is just above the Dermal-Epidermal junction (DEJ) where the melanocytes are. This results in a lower risk of melasma flare-ups after the MOXI Laser treatment
🧐Conclusion 🧐
Is MOXI laser a silver bullet for Melasma? It still takes 3-4 treatments to see significant improvement, with strict sun avoidance and medical therapy required to achieve Melasma remission. The low risk of Melasma flare, visible Melasma improvement and skin rejuvenation make MOXI laser the laser of choice at Bay Aesthetics clinic for the treatment of patients with Melasma

Chin and jawline aesthetics ✨ A well defined and contoured jawline is considered aesthetically pleasing and attractive. This can be achieved safely with the use of chin fillers, which project the chin forward and slightly downward. Results are immediately visible and last 1.5-2 years. Typically 2-3 syringes of filler is required. A “hard” filler such as Juvederm Volux is suitable for chin augmentation. For those seeking permanent results, a surgical chin implant or mandible (jawbone) surgery is required but comes with significantly higher costs and downtime.

👱🏻‍♀️ Hair loss, also known as alopecia, is a common condition that can affect both men and women. There are several causes of hair loss, and the treatment options can vary depending on the underlying cause.✨ 🤷🏻‍♀️Some of the common causes of hair loss include: 1️⃣Genetic factors: Hereditary hair loss is the most common cause of hair loss, which is known as male-pattern baldness or female-pattern baldness.👴🏻 2️⃣Hormonal changes: Hormonal changes such as those that occur during pregnancy, menopause, or thyroid disorders can cause hair loss.🤰 3️⃣Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions such as alopecia areata, scalp infections, and autoimmune diseases can cause hair loss.😶‍🌫️ 4️⃣Medications: Some medications such as chemotherapy drugs, blood thinners, and antidepressants can cause hair loss.💊 5️⃣Nutritional deficiencies: Nutritional deficiencies such as iron, vitamin D, and mineral deficiencies can cause hair loss.🥗 🧑🏻‍⚕️Treatment options for hair loss include: 1️⃣Lifestyle changes: Making lifestyle changes such as eating a healthy diet, reducing stress, and avoiding harsh hair treatments can help to prevent hair loss. 2️⃣Medications and supplements: Medications such as minoxidil and finasteride can help to promote hair growth and prevent further hair loss. Supplements contain the building blocks for new hair shafts and nutraceuticals aimed at counteracting the hormones involved in hair loss. 3️⃣Stem cell growth factor therapy: This is an non surgical treatment in which growth factors derived from stem cells are applied to the scalp to stimulate hair growth. 4️⃣Laser therapy: Low-level laser therapy can help to stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp. 5️⃣Hair transplant surgery: This is a surgical procedure in which hair follicles are transplanted from one area of the scalp to another. ‼️It is important to note that the treatment options for hair loss may vary depending on the underlying cause, and it is important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any treatment for hair loss.‼️

Hydrafacial Certificate of Good Practice 2024 🥇 This marks the second year of Bay Aesthetics Clinic receiving this award, a testament to our commitment to delivering an authentic Hydrafacial experience to our patients. Our staff have all underwent Hydrafacial trainings and are certified experts in the Hydrafacial treatment. Hydrafacial is a great way to get your skin glowing and red carpet ready- many clients do it before weddings or major events (eg star awards). It pairs well with laser or RF microneedling treatments- cleansing the skin of debris and clearing the pores to pave the way for better results. There are many cheap imitators with similar sounding names- HydraPeel, Hydroboost, Hydra clear. Look out for the authentic Hydrafacial device and ensure the clinic or Medispa is using authentic Hydrafacial serums (and not OEM serums 😜) @hydrafacialsgmy Hydrafacial at Bay Aesthetics Clinic is $180 nett

Ultherapy Prime: it’s finally here! Ultherapy needs no introduction: with 15 years of clinical use and over 100 published clinical studies, this is the energy based device of choice for most clinical and discerning clients. It’s one of the most requested treatments at Bay Aesthetics Clinic 🤩 Key features of Ultherapy that helps it stand taller than the numerous HIFU devices (even though they are the same family) are: real time ultrasound visualisation, consistency of energy delivery, reliability creation of regular sized thermal coagulation points (TCPs) accurately and strong safety track record. Ultherapy Prime builds upon legacy Ultherapy with higher ultrasound resolution, faster processing speed and larger screen. Thank you @merzaesthetics.sg @ultherapy.singapore for the event invitation and looking forward to further collaboration

Sculptra 25th anniversary 🥳 part 2 So where does Sculptra fit into the puzzle? 🧩 With dozens of HA based skinboosters and collagen stimulators on the market, it can be difficult to find clarity amongst the noise 🤨 Here’s several situations in which I would recommend Sculptra to my patients (my own opinions) 1️⃣ Patient wants natural, gradual and subtle results. Not looking for too much of a change, wants to do anti ageing treatments but cautious about looking “overdone”. The nature of Sculptra is exactly that- results come on gradually and subtly (collagen takes time to build) 2️⃣ Western expat clients: Sculptra needs no introduction and it is BIG in USA, Europe, Australia and Brazil. Western clients definitely have heard of it or even done it before! So it is easier to recommend 3️⃣ Clients who want something “tried and tested”with a strong safety record- Sculptra has a long track record with millions of completed treatments and good safety data Look out for the hologram sticker on the red Sculptra boxes to ensure you are getting an authentic product from Galderma! @aestheticsbygalderma.sg #Sculptra25 #TheFirstBiostimulator

PicoSure Laser came, ate and left no crumbs 😜 @drb.tan understood the assignment Jokes aside, PicoSure Laser is our go to laser for pigmentation removal, skin rejuvenation and acne scar resurfacing. With minimal downtime (skin redness for about a day only) and visible results in 2-3 sessions, PicoSure Laser is a good choice for working clients who can resume work and apply makeup the next day. The 755nm wavelength of PicoSure makes a big difference- pigment (melanin) is targeted efficiently while avoiding blood (hemoglobin)- this means quicker pigment removal and less bleeding/redness after as compared to all other Picolaser which operate at the 1064nm wavelength. PicoSure is US FDA approved for the treatment of: Pigmentation (freckles lentigo melasma) Tattoo removal Skin rejuvenation Acne scar resurfacing Slide into our DMs to arrange for a PicoSure Laser consultation!
